Add in FT analysis of 40% real terms reduction of salary compared to UK. Plus £50k pay immediately ruinous pension bills on £6k increments. Economists out there - educate us in the likely results. I postulate RIP NHS recruitment. Why would the brightest choose this environment?

The FT not the BMA published this. How can this salary assault on NHS and Education staff be justified. And how long do the professionals endure, in sacrifice for their guardianship of patients and children. Think how manipulative & morally horrific this regime is.

@DrJtrauma @macky_neal @rwinfield11 @mjdelanomd @JPascual2016 @TWCostantini @karimbrohi @ResearchTrauma Hmmm so I think infection is a consequence of the immune suppression state which occurs in some,but not all, of the severely injured patients. Shock = main risk factor. Why some can ‘jump start’ their metabolism and others succumb is unclear to me…

I think there are genetic predispositions to proinflammatory states both inherited and acquired that we haven’t identified yet. If/when we can identify them, you will know those people need more intensive up front care or better long term dispo planning after injury.
