Today, 20-year-old Rafiq Mohammad Doghmosh died from wounds he sustained months ago. Over the past few months, four of his brothers have also been killed, including a 13-year-old child. What breaks my heart is that Rafiq’s family spent weeks posting and pleading, begging the world to allow him to evacuate for medical treatment outside of Gaza. Israel’s closure of border crossings, along with the blocking of medical teams and equipment from entering, made it impossible for Rafiq, and so many others, to survive. I’m writing this because no one will write about Rafiq. And even if someone does report his death, they will not mention his four brothers. They will not mention his 13-year-old brother, Fayez, who was shot in the head by an Israeli quadcopter drone on 09/18/2025. Fayez’s photo is the last in the photos. Such an angel. I’m writing because no one else will. Because very few truly people care about our lives, our names, our faces.
