If you believe travelling pickets (which MT illegally stopped) were the reasons that the vast majority of the UK coalfield was shut down over the following 10 years then books won’t help you.

@PaulHeatonSolo Where I live (ilkeston) the pits weren't closed because of lack of investment. They were closed because num unions from Leicestershire and Yorkshire shipped in violent people to throw bricks at people who wanted to work to feed their families and pay their rent.
