Hot take: Only flat ball markers should be used on the golf course. The rest are collectibles. Only the bottom 4 should be on a green. Big markers need to be moved all the time and just slow down the game. Flat markers very rarely need to be moved. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to show off cool ball markers every chance I get. But not worth having to hear “Can you move that” 5 times a round.

This prompts a question. I am going to Bandon in 2027. It will almost certainly be my first rounds of 2027. How should I train to be ready to walk 36 per day for 3 straight days? Should I take a caddie for every round? Any other tips to prep me?
Thomas Bendelow@BendelowThomas

@BryanTweed16 Totally understand this. When I went down to Streamsong a few weeks ago and walked 36, after not playing four months, I thought I was going to die

Arthritis has really been kicking my ass this winter. Is this shit any good or is it going to destroy my liver and kidneys like every thing else? So far all I’ve noticed is it gave me the shitz. Seems counter productive at that.

What a whiff Kam. Doxxing middle management who had nothing to do with the decision is just wrong. Wrong is wrong. CBU cut wrestling. It stinks.
Kam@kamJnelson

@CPyles8 This guy equates justified outrage over the mistreatment of young athletes as “virulent harassment.” If this was the 60’s he would’ve said “u think boycotting busses is going to get you civil rights?” @ChaelSonnen @Yuno_Mal @BWAssociation_

Looking for a good under-the-radar value course in Pinehurst/Southern Pines to play in June as an add-on to a graduation trip for me and my great nephew. Already have booked MidPines, Pine Needles, Southern Pines, Tobacco Road and Tot Hill Farm. Anything $100 or less?

@KeithEKnight @LouStagner Just got one for my driver, but being in South Dakota, I haven’t had the chance to get a feel for it yet.

@LouStagner And off topic- from grips to shafts. Has anyone tried the Newton shafts? Curious if it’s all marketing or if anyone has seen a benefit?

I am running a grip experiment this weekend. Trying out the Jumbo Max grips... the largest size grip they make (I *think* these are the ones Bryson uses). Very curious to see how they perform. Especially with face control. I sometimes get into a pattern of slamming the face closed and I am curious to see if the larger grip helps with that. Also curious to see if my speed changes at all with the larger grip... Will report back after I get enough shots logged!

Couldn't believe what I captured at a gas station when I was driving home from Omaha to Lincoln in a full whiteout after covering the NSAA Wrestling Championships. Tractor plow with 0 cover... Midwest tough is built differently! PS- First time driving in a whiteout, terrifying

@silagechopper I’m so happy to have what I have because I have worked really hard for it. My dad is a lifelong cattle guy. I chose a different path but respect all that you guys and gals do. I’m so glad you appreciate the picture you posted.

Can sit in your house, be mad at the world around you for even breathing air. Or go outside today and see for over 30 miles. Don’t let the hard days win.

@KozakJon They don’t normally call this a takedown. I wish they would start though because I hate this leg pass crap that just boggs matches down constantly.

@adamtirapelle I think scrambling has led to lower scores. Eats up a ton of clock in many instances and often resulting in a stalemate.

I disagree. The 3-point takedown was NOT implemented to increase scoring or excitement. It was to balance the risk/reward relationship in scoring. I do think it has done that. Activity and scoring will only be increased by rewarding offense and penalizing defense, the same as in every major sport. In wrestling, we give a grey area decisions to the defensive wrestler. Stalemate, potentially dangerous, OOB, etc. It makes it much easier to defend than to score. The only teams/individuals that score well above the average are those that are completely dominant (ie Penn State right now).
Brian Swaw@BrianSwaw

The 3-point takedown was intended to boost scoring and excitement, but it seems that hasn’t quite happened. Too many matches go into overtime with just two escapes over seven minutes, leading to dull matches. What can be done to encourage more offense? Should we consider a freestyle shot clock or push-out points? Are fans are tired of these snooze-fest matches. Hard to grow the sport outside of our circle without more offense IMO @adamtirapelle @JBla174 @TheCollegeWrR @WrestlingSNL @hawkeyemuse
