One way to evaluate media is to look at WHO they quote. Ask, is it always outside sources? Credible media gets to leaders, experts and those "in the room" whose thoughts and words will be handled fairly. Uncredible media isn't able to get to the credible sources for a reason.

I got laid off from the job of a lifetime as a columnist at The Kansas City Star on Monday. On Tuesday, my mom was having a standard cancer biopsy and her lung hemorrhaged putting her life in danger and landing her in the ICU. Today she is going home as if nothing happened. She's a little hoarse from being intubated. Puts things in perspective. God is truly there when things look bleak.

With each of our children's births, I took some time off work. The time off increased with each birth, because my usefulness increased. But I wasn't mostly useful for caring for the baby. I had limited use in caring for my wife after the first 3 days. I was useful in caring for the older kids. The picture below, from 16 years ago today, captures those wonderful times. Mom and Baby needed naps -- and 1-on-1 time. My job was to take the 3.5-year-old and the 1.5-year-old out of the house. These days, walking the woods endlessly with my two oldest, when they were so little, are among my most cherished memories.

@heckyessica @spaceman_cometh They change function w/ different temps. Use cold water and it stays firm and scratchy for stuck on grime. Use warm water and it softens for regular sponge work and doesn't scratch. They don't smell bc they dry out quicker.
