@rmelogli I know! I'd still really like to go! but now I'm scheduled to run a bunch of company event stuff when we meet up in our agency from across the globe a few weeks after too 😂 So if the boss man says it's a no-go I'm a bit tied. I'll deal with the FOMO 😶‍🌫️

@jonathan_dejong You're still on time to join us in Palermo... This is called "Sfincia". Think the same of a Cannolo filling, but in a deep fried pastry bun 🙃

@markjaquith @richardmz13 I didn't know this was such a popular book before now .. and I generally want to try to read great stories before I watch them. So thanks!

@jonathan_dejong @richardmz13 Nice! It’s a really faithful adaptation, and if you’ve read the book you’ll pick up on a lot of small details that they put in the movie but didn’t have time to explain.

come to think of it, there are probably three ways to experience #ProjectHailMary: • haven't read the book - overstimulating but FUN • read it- your background will guide you • read only half - that third act may surprise you all very different, all very enriching
rich@richardmz13

Both a love letter to science & the unknown and a tribute to friendship of all shapes, sizes, & species, #ProjectHailMary is a sure-fire classic propelled to astronomical heights by Ryan Gosling. Daniel Pemberton's score is everything. REVIEW: tiny.cc/RRPHM

@richardmz13 Read the book, listened to the audiobook, STILL was not emotionally prepared for the movie. I can’t imagine going in cold.

😂😂😂 This platform is basically just automated AI agents posting and commenting on other agent’s posts. I feel like I’m reading an AI driven echo chamber.

Holy shit... someone just open-sourced the cheat code for making AI writing undetectable. It's called stop-slop and it strips every known AI tell from your prose automatically. No rewriting tools. No paraphrasers. No "humanizer" apps. Here's how it works: → A single SKILL.md file you drop into Claude Code, Cursor, or any system prompt → Bans 50+ AI filler phrases your readers are already tired of → Kills structural clichés like dramatic fragmentation and binary contrasts → Forces sentence rhythm variation so your writing doesn't sound robotic → Scores your draft on a 50-point scale across 5 dimensions The wildest part? It's not a tool. It's not a SaaS product. It's a markdown file with rules. That's it. And it works better than any $29/month "humanizer" on the market. One file changes how your AI writes everything. 809 GitHub stars. MIT licensed. 100% Open Source. (Link in the comments)

I’m surprised at how often I am described as “authentic” by others, usually in a way that makes it seem like such a rare quality. I would consider myself authentic, but I wouldn’t have suspected that it was that uncommon.

@mikemcalister It's cool I agree. But how is this different to just reshaping the existing toolbar and making it larger and toggled by a shortcut? I'm in no way against this because I agree with the context switching issue I'm just curious what your take is on that?

Check out this concept where we're bringing WordPress block editor styles right to your cursor and cutting down on context switching and settings hunting. What do you think? Is this something we should release?

Codex doesn't trust me. I copy paste the core function I want to filter, and it spends 10+ minutes trying to scan the entire wp-includes instead of just listening 🥲

This weekend I had a moment of gender confusion when going to the bathroom in a restaurant. Do you identify as a shell or a seahorse? (I chose shell but the seat was up so I might have got it wrong - or someone else did 😅)

@remkusdevries That's just how we've been raised! Getting to pick the "expensive" ice cream cone with a chocolate bottom was a special thing when I grew up.

It’s crazy how much my brain perceives the chocolate bottom of a cornetto ice cream as the reward.

@rmelogli I never bought into that idea in the first place... It's not necessarily a bad one, i just don't think the vast consumer markets are ready for it.

Things are moving so fast in AI and ecommerce that we should just wait a few weeks to see how the new tech evolves before doing anything 🙂 Avoid jumping on every new trend before it’s proven (that's my motto). Good bye, Instant Checkout! searchengineland.com/chatgpt-instan…

FYI Composer repos can include an ‘info’ field in packages.json that displays messages to every developer on install/update. Any repo maintainer could use this to push ads, upsells, or whatever else directly into your terminal wp-composer.com will never do this

@aaronware @wpengine @LocalWP We are planning on adding: "WPackagist is now maintained by WP Engine." in the CLI. That is all.

@polevaultweb Right. And it is important every developer knows this immediately and every time we run composer in our CLI/CI why? I've seen it ~10 times just today. I thought the narrative was that nothing was going to change with this shift in ownership..

And it only took less than 24h for this to pop up on every composer run: "Info from wpackagist.org: WPackagist is now maintained by WP Engine. Learn more at wpengine.com" Which I'm sure is a permanent message that will just shift to marketing. Prove me wrong🤡
WPackagist@wpackagist

WPackagist has been acquired by @wpengine. For over a decade, Outlandish built and maintained this service. Now WP Engine is carrying it forward - with the same commitment to the developer community in the WordPress ecosystem.

Been having some fun running pi-autoresearch against our HPOS code to see if any performance improvements can be made. I need to review and test the code to see if everything is valid, but what an awesome way to iteratively improve performance 😁

@robbertvancaem @rootswp I'd find this interesting as well.. we also run a satispress but as a rule we keep almost all plugins disabled and we have put a Satis instance in front of it which makes it fast. However we do run a 1h TTL cache on it which can be annoying.
