@TheValuEngineer @Saladinbraham Three people I know made their own adobe tools by taking something like gimp and using an AI to re-skin it so it looks like photoshop. Adobe is so screwed its not even funny.

Have you imagined the BEAR case scenario though? Because there is one. I own the stock, with an almost $10k cost basis, so I want to be straight about both cases. Bull case: They are deferring price hikes to build the freemium funnel, which can be an offensive move. Convert the 850M MAUs later, and pricing power returns. ARR miss is temporary. Bear case: they can't raise prices anymore without losing users to Canva and AI-native tools. The freemium pivot reframes a competitive constraint as a strategy. That's moat erosion dressed up as a plan. You cannot tell which is right yet. The deciding data point is Q3 September. If MAU keeps growing and paid conversion doesn't follow, bears start winning. I'm holding with a clearly defined exit trigger. Not blind conviction. Just waiting for the one number that resolves the debate.

$ADBE was really cheap to me at 340$. Even more attractive at 300$. Then it even dropped to 250$, which I thought was impossible for this quality business. Now it sits under 200$. Dafuqq?? Literally debating with myself to go into generational debt for this one. 7x Forward P/E, PEG ratio 0.6. Rev Growth 10%ish. P/FCF 7.6. Even if Rev only grows 5% we still get a 15% CAGR here. And imagine the possible buybacks over the next quarters. And now IMAGINE THE BULL CASE scenario. Idk man.

@IterIntellectus Why do you think it wont be an even bigger bill? The convenience and speed will carry a premium because hospitals/care centers are bloated, debt instruments that want patients to experience as much pain in their bank account as possible.

this is actually incredible a full body ultrasound scanner that takes 60 seconds instead of spending an hour in an MRI tube, without radiation, hospitals or a $2000 bill soon you’ll just walk into a health spa, order a coffee, step into the pod, and walk out with a 3D map of your body the future is finally starting to look like the future

You can crash your yard's mosquito population without spraying a single chemical with a Mosquito Bucket of Doom. Fill a 5-gallon bucket about two-thirds with water. Drop in a handful of grass clippings, leaves, or hay. Let it sit for a day, then drop in a Bti dunk (also called Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis, sold at any hardware store as "mosquito dunks," about $10 for six). Mosquitoes are powerfully attracted to fermenting water and will lay their eggs in your bucket. Bti is a naturally occurring soil bacterium that produces a toxin that kills mosquito, blackfly, and fungus gnat larvae only. This method doesn't harm bees, butterflies, fireflies, fish, frogs, birds, pets, or people. BTI dunks are EPA-approved for organic use and safe in animal water troughs and birdbaths. One dunk lasts about 30 days. Top off the water as it evaporates. Cover with 1/2-in Mesh Hardware Cloth to prevent animals from getting trapped and put the bucket somewhere shady where pets and kids won't get into it. The bucket becomes a mosquito magnet and a dead end. Compare that to fogging the entire yard with pyrethroids, which kills every insect in it, including the predators that eat mosquitoes. Doug Tallamy's Homegrown National Park has been running the "Mosquito Bucket Challenge" since 2021. The more buckets in a neighborhood, the bigger the dent. One bucket per yard is a great start.

@__tinygrad__ The AI layoffs are a direct response to over-hiring in 2020. It has nothing to do with AI having some sort of superpowers. Claude Code is still temperamental at best (models strangely perform better when you are about to renew subscription).

The AI panic is really unbelievable today. The level of delusion and hype have grown to mythic proportions. Has AI beaten Pokemon Red yet? Like a normal 6 year old does, by looking at the screen? Oh it hasn't. But all jobs are over in 18 months? This website is full of idiots.

here's an actual real time realistic 3D ocean simulation I wrote a few years ago without AI just by reading some papers. maybe someday Gemini can catch up to 30 year old rendering tech
Deedy@deedydas

Wow, Gemini 3.1 Pro just crushed one of my test problems no other model could solve. "Write a photorealistic 3D ocean simulation" 3D graphics is extremely hard. It has to encode 9-10 techniques based in physics. Being off by just 1 number can lead to bonkers results

@Sentdex I suspect there are some expensive drop in replacement parts for ankle, wrists etc. Possibly lots of weight reduction in torso as well. I know exactly what you mean when you say "it should break"... But to be hones they are simply getting good at this :)
