They’ll get bailed out and nothing will change. The Creature from Jekyll Island speaks of this
Molly O’Shea@MollySOShea

BREAKING: David @friedberg says "California is functionally bankrupt" "People don't realize how screwed California is, & I worry that if California falls, so does the union. "$250 billion to $1 trillion short." "This is because for California to get rescued would be a big cost to red states, & I think it creates in the years ahead a lot of tension." "California's functional bankruptcy is a major risk to the country. & I think we need to figure out what we can change to fix it." How we got here: "California has a public pension system, & that public pension system retirees have paid into it & they get some benefits out, & the amount that they're owed back out is somewhere between $250 billion - $1 trillion dollars more than has been paid in. $250 billion to $1 trillion short. If it was the federal government, it would be like, okay, we'll just print more money. California doesn't have the ability to print money, so California has to pay this out, and you can't restructure retirement benefits. There is a Supreme Court case in California that said that once an employee has been offered retirement benefits, even if they're currently an employee, you can never restructure their retirement benefits. It has to stay forever, and the state cannot declare bankruptcy. There's no way for the state to functionally declare bankruptcy. There's no law to allow it. No state has ever declared bankruptcy, and the retirement benefits sit senior to the bonds in California. So you have to pay out the retirement benefits before you pay out all the bond holders that have loaned California the money that they use to run all their programs and services." 3. Each container automatically gets its own state in a durable object (including a full SQLite DB!). You can also use the DO to control the container itself. Super useful if you're using the SandboxSDK. (developers.cloudflare.com/sandbox) Get to the DO from the container easily.

Securely connect your container to a Worker via HTTP. Big feature added to Cloudflare Containers that opens up a lot of possibilities... (1/n)

I'm building an internal background coding agent @Consensys, all on Cloudflare, and this is going to fit in nicely. Currently using CF sandbox containers, which will still be needed for heavy edits, but routing simpler requests to dynamic workers will greatly improve UX

dynamic workers are now in open beta, and available for anyone to try! 🚀 crazy that the isolates bet we made 9 years ago is the perfect fit for the current era of giving agents dynamic execution environments blog.cloudflare.com/dynamic-worker…

i wonder if you could run your vitest test suite in parallel using dynamic workers - 1 test per worker and massively parallelize testing

An especially important note for agentic DX
Jonathan Beckman@jonbeckman

@kentcdodds Yeah, Cloudflare is awesome. There is too much 'iteration tax' with modern tooling, and between CF's great local DX and near instant global deployments, the feedback loop with them is very tight. Also it's just fun to build in CF, the ecosystem and bindings are great

The Cloudflare platform is enabling me to quickly build things I wanted to before but I didn't because it was too much work before.

You can now manage your Cloudflare Tunnels via Wrangler, rather than having to do it via the dashboard! It ships with the following capabilities: - Create a new tunnel - List all tunnels - Get info about a specific tunnel - Delete a tunnel - Run a tunnel - Start a free, temporary tunnel Cloudflare Tunnel provides you with a secure way to connect your resources to Cloudflare without a publicly routable IP address by creating outbound-only connections to Cloudflare's global network.

Guy who has been trying to sell me a four-letter .com domain for the past two years just doubled his price from $20k to $40k. He always has "3-4 serious parties" when we negotiate too. I literally laughed out loud, didn't even bother responding.
