5 years ago today I said goodbye to my dad in Colchester Hospital. He caught Covid in the same hospital 2 weeks before while having a pacemaker fitted. I miss him

Can’t sleep, brain won’t switch off. The last few months have been rough. Tried so many things to reconnect with old pals & tried to reach out to a few people on Twitter who I would love to meet up or just chat with. I wish people would be kinder & think of peoples feelings

@waveatthetrain Very kind! I’ve had to drop too many friends unfortunately. If they gave me a reason or said their life was too hectic etc then fine. The ghosting hits hard. The unfollow is odd. So refollowed (if that’s a word!) 👍

@jonboy72 It is tough but many don’t think of others. I’ve had to drop friends in recent years because they weren’t kind people. I look out for your tweets and respond, but I see you’ve unfollowed me now, but I’m happy to chat on here any time!

@jonboy72 My advice is don't change. Don't be mean because they are. Don't give up treating people decently. Stick with your contacts here on X. And most of all, don't give up on yourself.

@squeak20021 I do try and be kind to anyone & everyone. I just don’t understand so called friends who just don’t reply or answer e-mails or cards etc. just tell me you are too busy or that life has moved on. Being ghosted is awful, I really feel I am getting near breaking point

@jonboy72 I have friends who cheerfully tell me I eat too much and shouldn't have this or that. Makes me wonder if they just talk to me so they can be morally superior because I don't treat them how they treat me. The key is to stay calm and be yourself, no matter how mean they are.
