@baddepptakes It doesn't hurt DV Survivors. Many of us are very proud of her and support her. 💜 What does hurt all of us (whether they see it yet or not) is the misogynistic comments and silencing of a victim. We never see men guilty of exploiting droves of women being treated this way.

Another precious life taken by the Islamic Republic. 16-year-old #SarinaEsmaeilzadeh was bludgeoned to death as a result of baton blows to her head by security forces. When will this regime be brought to justice for its mass atrocities? #MahsaAmini #مهسا_امینی #IranProtests

@DrProudman I think the same about men and women with age, hair loss & weight... Why okay for one and not the other? It's just as common for both, so why the bias? Just too much emphasis on women's physical appearance.

@MyClickInTime @robertaloug @DrProudman There is an unequal expectation that women will make the sacrifices, while men are not expected to make any. Women's rights have been stolen by society and now by law.

@robertaloug @DrProudman That’s why adoption exists & was what used to be done with those oh-so-inconvenient bundles of “disruption”. BC is now available freely, and taught early. As to consequences for the partner, 18 years of support pmts that will effectively hamstring his life works well, but late

@MyClickInTime @robertaloug @DrProudman Custodial parent takes the greater financial responsibility, typically mom. Child support does not nearly cover the actual cost of a child nor child care. Unmarried women may receive less per state law. States rarely increase due to already existing backlog and related issues.

@BrattyBag @DrProudman If you think she had a better chance of winning than he did, you do not understand the dynamics of misogyny in a patriarchal society, court bias towards power or domestic abuse & violence.

@DrProudman Why would Johnny? He had less chance of winning than she did. It was literally her case to lose - yet she did. Think about that

What DOES cause domestic abuse: an abuser's belief in rigid gender roles for men & women, an abuser's high sense of entitlement, an abuser's contempt for their partner, an abuser's belief they are superior & above the rules, an abuser's refusal to be held accountable...

@DrJessTaylor @dasgsurvivors Educating one woman will help her identify abuse... but educating society to understand abuse vocabulary and dynamics, will give her voice a chance when she finally speaks out.

10.If women are educated with the signs of abuse, they will leave Fact: Education is not protective. Knowing the signs will not protect you from a perp or enable you to leave, hence why even social workers, police and therapists are just as likely to be abused as anyone else.

this is why i don't trust juries to be rational and concentrate on facts, especially when it's a celebrity trial. bob from down the street's reasoning boiled down to 'haha woman unstable 🤣🤪' meanwhile the UK judge gave 129 pages of information on how he reached his result.

@PhilMitchell83 While I'm glad men can speak out & overcome patriarchal stereotypes of weakness, it is wrong to use a misogynistic, violent addict to support the cause at the expense of women, still marginalized by society. Women are still not believed & are more silenced than ever.

@DeeDeeEHughes Right? She supports efforts for LGBTQ/DV Survivors, using her own pain/struggles to help others. Meanwhile, JD is dripping misogyny, addiction, has extensive history of control/violence/police issues & has yet another trial for physically assaulting a 19 yo hotel employee! 🙄

@JosephsonAdam1 @Kendra288Law @DrProudman Patriarchy is detrimental to men and women differently in terms of abuse. Women - abuse is epidemic due to male societal privilege - much is allowed & women not believed. Men - more isolated IPV cases & coming out can be seen as "weak", but when they do, they are often believed.

@BergmanHenry @virginiafenice @Eliza_Justice_ Experts say that not all addicts are domestics abusers. However, domestic abusers are less inhibited in abusing when intoxicated. It also gives them the addiction to blame. Never taking responsibility of the abuse itself.

@virginiafenice @Eliza_Justice_ I don't think they did a good job connecting drug abuse with domestic abuse but I also think he downplayed his issues very much. As if he doesn't believe it is an issue. I agree with this statement very much.

@Kendra288Law @JosephsonAdam1 @DrProudman Patriarchy plays a role 1) men are encouraged/entitled to control & display aggressive behavior 2) degradation of feminity is prevalent in society, culture & media 3) victims are discredited because society accepts such behavior from men and sees reports as threat to status quo.

@NatillyWelshie @DrProudman I think the only thing that hurts society are the secrets not told. I've thought the same about not writing, but I will likely write anonymous explaining that I am not ashamed, but choose to avert a defamation lawsuit. Sad it's come to this.

@DrProudman I’m waiting to hear back from CPS if my rape case against a charity worker who raped me when I was 16 whilst under his care will go ahead. If it doesn’t go ahead I wanted to write about it, now I’m not sure.

@JosephsonAdam1 @Kendra288Law @DrProudman Children are also marginalized. IMO high school and college boys are still children. I do not think this reflects man/woman adult relationships, but it is a sad eye opener, especially in the day of human trafficking. Abusers often abuse. It's an epidemic at this point.
