Most strategy consultants are hired to find the "hidden" problem, not just resolve the stated one. But since there hasn't been software for that

You can’t put "figure out what’s actually going on" into a Jira ticket. Strategy work starts with fragments like conflicting stakeholder accounts and symptoms. If you force that ambiguity into a task manager too early, you just end up executing the wrong plan more efficiently.

This is exactly why high-stakes discovery feels so manual. We’ve been forced to use 'After Clarity' tools for 'Before Clarity' problems. It’s time for infrastructure that matches the way we actually think.
Exec Suite@ExecSuiteAI

The software landscape has a massive hole. We have Project Management for execution and BI for monitoring, but nothing for the Pre-Clarity stage. We’re building ExecSuite to be the first infrastructure layer for the messy discovery phase that comes before the plan.

"pre-clarity" phase, we've been forced to keep the entire project model in our heads. That’s a burnout trap.

@pederzh @manufact @pietrozullo Yes! We got our application in two hours before the deadline for the summer batch. Can you share anything on the timeline between applying, interviewing, and getting a decision? I've heard general timeframes, but curious to get that from a fellow last-minute applicant.

Today is the deadline to apply for YC Summer 2026. Just fill out a form! It changed our lives. We applied last year on deadline day, too. We applied with @manufact and back then, mcp-use was just an open source SDK with good traction.

Had an idea in 2017. Couldn't get it out of my head. Launched and nobody cared. Worked on it every single day for 8 years. This year it was acquired by a $12B company. Not bad

I was insanely nervous the first time I applied to YC. I agonized about it for weeks. When I look at it now, that application was so embarrassingly bad. But it was a start. And it directly led to getting in to YC W22. And that changed my life. The deadline is today. All you need is an idea. If you need last minute feedback, my DMs are open. We try to pay it forward and help as many people as we can.

@jportukalian I'm 43 and was tired of making excuses, myself. Applied for the first time for S26 and it has really helped me give myself credit, mentally, for all the work I've put in to get to this point.

at this point I think I've heard every excuse in the book for why someone would not apply to YC and they're all dumb. When I applied I was 40 years old, no co-founder yet, and had a mediocre idea. All I really had was an important problem to solve.

@theshafquat @xuster As someone who just applied for the first time, what do you think you've learned from your previous applications that makes you more ready this time? I'd love to know how the past applications went for you. Have you made it to interview, etc?

The YC application deadline is today. If you're working with AI to close the scientific discovery loop, drop an application and tell us about it.
Y Combinator@ycombinator

AI-Native Discovery Engines @xuster For centuries, scientific discovery has run on the same loop: hypothesize, experiment, interpret, repeat. It works, but it's slow. Frontier models have now reached PhD-level performance on scientific reasoning, and the frontier is shifting from copilots to systems that can run closed discovery loops on their own.

@SkunkWorks0x Nice work! We also applied - I'm just really enjoying seeing what others who applied are building, and trying to connect with others who are at the same general stage as us.

so @ajitkumar_dev and i have applied to YC together as co-founders. we’ve known each other for 8 years. i was an early user of Ajit’s first app, JS Console, while still in school, using it to run code on my phone as a beginner and sending bug reports. that’s how we first connected. i later became an early user of his new app Acode - which now has almost 4 million downloads on Play Store & 500K monthly active users. in 2022 i worked for him part-time as a JavaScript Developer. in 2023, we worked together in person as colleagues for ~1.5 years at LaneSquare. and now we're building @shellular_dev together, to bring your entire development environment on your phone! this is going to happen with or without us. we just want to be the ones who build it. we don't move development to the phone. we keep it on your machine (laptop, desktop, mac mini, VPS, etc.) and give you a mobile interface to run agents, see outputs, and manage everything remotely.

@haileyhmt Best of luck, I applied for the first time, I was confident, but after seeing the past selection rate, i am now not sure, if i'm gonna make it. btw, is there a sure shot criteria that your bizz should follow so yc can't reject.

Second time applying to Y Combinator. last round I made it to the waitlist but didn’t get an interview. since then, ive been iterating a lot, talked with therapists, refined the idea with good traction, and even had some media coverage come in. also spent time learning from yc founders, and honestly it helped a lot to hear their feedback & how many of them didn’t get in on their first try either. now prepping for the a16z speedrun interview next. to everyone applying this round, we’ve got this, keep building and keep going
