@sqs Hi Quinn, hope you don’t mind me popping up again! You kindly sorted my Amp Free access before, I’ve just noticed my AMP profile now says I’m no longer part of Amp Free. The blog says “If you already have Amp Free, you’re still in.” Just wondering if something's changed? TY

@jonnywilliamson You're in, sorry for the delay! We have a big backlog and are working down it, but it's an inexact science to determine who is human.

@sqs Hi there! I don't mind being told that I might not be human and I have to wait for some checks to be done to take advantage of Amp free, but should it take more than a week? Happy to wait if so, but if not - would you be kind to check for me! username: jwilliamson TY!

@VirginMediaIE @Ian177984 In Donabate as well, internet out since 06:18am this morning, yet your online status check is still showing everything is fine! Whats the point of the status checker if it can't detect any faults...and needs to be manually updated?! Is there an ETA for repair please?

@driesvints It all sounds good. However what stops me is the fear of cost. I only run a personal site, but I’d be curious in 1-2 months how you feel the cost figure has worked out. Same, cheaper or more expensive than self host!

Overall very happy with the move. Everything runs smoothly and the integration with Nightwatch is so nice. Migrating itself was also easy. Even though you could technically connect to your own public database endpoint I decided to put the app in maintenance mode and migrate the data altogether. Took me a small bit mostly because I was fumbling to choose the right setup. Migrating the domain with pre-verification was also a smooth experience. My colleagues have done a terrific job on this experience 👏🙇‍♂️

📈 Sharing some first results from the @laravelio move to Laravel Cloud and its config! Went with a not too crazy instance size of 2 vCPU 1 GiB RAM. Holds up pretty well. Just a very simple background process for the queue and no hibernation (because of the high traffic). I'm not brave yet enough to run Octane 🙈

We can write amazing web apps, desktop apps - even mobile apps with PHP. But what about writing music with PHP? I got you 🫡

I need to create a transcript from a mp4 video. This is just once-off. What's the easiest/quickest way for me to do it?

@michaeldyrynda @laravelphp Thank Michael for taking time to show your process there. Looks like I'll have to go and embrace cloudflare! It's unreal the number of bot scans and hit-and-runs every day on even the smallest server! 😡

After seeing a whole heap of 4xx-level requests hit my @laravelphp Nightwatch logs (and subsequently chew through all my events), I set about figuring out how to stop the requests ever getting to my app. Turns out it's easier than you'd think!

@michaeldyrynda @laravelphp @Cloudflare This is exactly what is happening to me, I get hit multiple times daily with blocks of "drive-by" wp-includes/wp-content requests that all give 404s etc. Is cloudsource the only way to block these if the IPs are always random? Intrigued at how everyone else dealing with it.

I've found @laravelphp Nightwatch extremely useful to surface invalid requests into my apps. Large blocks of bot-scanning 4xx errors, which I then end up putting into @Cloudflare's security rules to stop the requests ever hitting the app (and wasting Nightwatch events!)

Nightwatch reminded me to block random wp-includes and wp-content requests from bots sniffing around for vulnerabilities

@laravel_idea This is an incredible update! At this stage could you clarify, do we still need (or get any benefit from) using barryvdh/laravel-ide-helper these days? The lines seem very blurred to me at the moment! Any clarity would be appreciated! Thank you.

In any app that I need to parse URL's in, I always use the same DTO that makes them much nicer to work with than PHP's built-in parse_* functions

I want to create a writing assistant for myself that has access to all my blog posts, podcast transcripts, and random audio notes. I have all of that in text form already, but what's the best way to load it (?) into an LLM? Ideally something local I can build on top of.

@joetannenbaum @inertiajs Good grief this is incredible! Absolutely amazing, and solves every problem I've ever had with infinite scroll! I'm sorry if this is such a naive question, but is this coming to inertia.js directly, or is this a package that you developing separately? Thank you!

We took the @inertiajs infinite scroll component for 2.0 and turbo boosted it: - ⬆️ Reverse infinite scroll - 👬 Multiple infinite scroll components on the same page - 🔃 *Two way* infinite scroll - 🔗 Syncing page state in URL - 🖱️ Manual mode after X requests 🚀👨‍🚀

@adamwathan @wesbos I think a lot of people going very complicated here. You're like me, just wanted to pop a few AP around the house, set them up and then walk away from it all. Here's where you need to go ui.com/us/en/wifi/fla… Each of them can be powered using POE. And you're done!

Anyone love their home WiFi mesh setup? Need to cover about 5500sqft and they don't sell the satellites for my existing Orbi setup anymore so looking for something new 🤔 I don't like tinkering with this stuff so hoping for something plug and play 🙏🏻

@wesbos @adamwathan Adam, this is the answer. Don't bother scrolling down any further. Unfi AP, a few sprinkled throughout the house (hardwired) and you'll never think of them/wifi again.

@jeffrey_way A really enjoyable watch, excellent and clear video! I'm currently stuck in my own app with this strategy as I have a lot of Action classes I want to also be able fire as a job and/or use as a command. It would have been great to have seen how you would implemented that!
