@simmonssteve please be prepared to bring your line of questioning to Vancouver when @fr_aquilini and Rutherford make the moronic decision to hire Dorion as GM of @Canucks.
@ThomasDrance will have your back.
@WabKinew Take note @Dave_Eby@KenSimCity
This is exactly what Vancouver needs. The city is an embarrassment.

@MikeHalford604 thanks for shouting out @keepaere goalkeeper gloves on your show yesterday. I hadn’t heard of them and I’m glad there’s a local option to buy from.
I just ordered a pair for my son.
@AirPassRightsCA AC finally got me a flight home but it was after the 48hr AAPR requirement. I want to reclaim the points/$ associated with the portion of my flight that got cancelled. Any idea where I submit this claim with AC?
@jono604 If they are not reachable, you are within your right to book yourself on any airline -- the obligation to rebook passengers is a positive on Air Canada.
MISINFORMATION ALERT: CBC
Regrettably, CBC has been regurgitating Air Canada's press release. This is inaccurate.
1) Under the APPR, AC must rebook passengers on competitor airlines if it cannot rebook them on their own.
2) The Carriage by Air Act provides more protection.
@AirCanada Finally got home on a WestJet flight arranged by AC.
Good luck to all those still trying to get through to customer service and getting a new flight.
@AirCanada AC’s inability to come to a fair agreement with your employees is causing my family unnecessary stress, preventing my wife and I from working and ruining the remaining days of my kids’ summer.
I can’t believe AC has let it come to this after months of negotiation.
@Aeroplan Thanks Skye
Unfortunately that’s not the reality. I’m currently on hold through one phone number (with no update on position/staus) but when trying the standard air Canada and Aeroplan numbers I can’t even get in a queue.
@Aeroplan why are Aug 19 flights showing as available for new bookings but not available as an alternate for those of us with existing bookings that were cancelled due to the strike?
@AirCanada Why are flights showing as available for new bookings but not an option for those of us that have already missed flights because of cancellations?
@wonder763@AirCanada Watched it and also reviewed the Air Passenger Protection Regulations form @CTA_gc .
It’s clear that @aircanada is defying their legal obligations by making it difficult for passengers to arrange alternate flights with competitors. 2 AC agents haven’t been able to help me.
@jono604@AirCanada Check out the Facebook Live session in the Air Passenger Rights (Canada) Facebook group. Very informative! Each Canadian should view this to realize how poor our Air Passenger Protection Rights are compared to EU/UK 261/Montreal Convention
@porterairlines if a flight appears on your website can I confidently assume that it’s available and not oversold? I’m stuck because of @AirCanada strike and needing to get home to YVR. I can’t get AC to rebook me on one of your flights so I’m considering paying out of pocket
@CTA_gc@AirCanada Finally got in touch with @aircanada but they can’t/won’t put me on the next available competitor flight with @porterairlines despite having a commercial arrangement. I can see available flights on Porter website but AC customer service can’t access the seats.
This is ridiculous
@CTA_gc Despite a legal obligation @AirCanada does not provide any option via their website to book alternate flights with competitor airlines even though they exist. I’ve been trying repeatedly for hours with their customer service and I can’t even get in a queue.
This seems criminal.

@flairairlines if a flight appears on your website can I confidently assume that it’s available and not oversold? I’m stuck because of @AirCanada strike and needing to get home to YVR. I can’t get in touch with AC to rebook me on 1 of your flights, might have to pay out of pocket
@CTA_gc@PattyHajdu 16hrs on hold with @AirCanada while I see alternate competitor flights come and go. How do I exercise my rights under APPR if I can’t get in touch with AC? Seems suspicious, almost like they don’t want to comply with the law and pay for my family to get home
@AirPassRightsCA Yes but then out of pocket $6000+ and I don’t know if/when Air Canada will pay me back. Plenty of people saying they still haven’t been reimbursed from COVID travel cancellations
@cafreeland@PattyHajdu I was on hold with @AirCanada for a total of 12hrs before the call abruptly ended. Now I can’t get in a queue for a call back. AC can’t get me a flight for 4days but there are competitor flights available. I have no way to get AC to meet their obligation
After briefly speaking to an agent @AirCanada about a canceled flight, I was put on hold when I pointed out their legal @CTA_gc obligation to buy me a flight with a competitor. After 8hrs on hold with no updates the call abruptly ended. Now I can’t get through at all. Suspicious
