...whose capabilities may in part be redundant in a decade or so? They're not 'cattle trains' as some have suggested - they're 125mph capable long-distance trains which accelerate like rocketships. A perfect fit for the duties intended, and better still after the refurb.

The Class 222s are good trains with plenty of life left in them. They're having a major refurb for use with @ScotRail. No, they're not new - but the HSTs are excruciatingly expensive to run, and with major electrification planned, why order new multi-mode trains...

I’ve just done a Speed Awareness Course after being caught doing 34mph in a 30mph zone. To be honest I was pissed off - my friends often mock how slowly I drive and how angry I get when I see drivers speeding. I use my speed limiter almost all the time to keep within the limit. I assumed it would be a useless waste of three hours from which I would learn nothing - basically a scam so people could make money from me and the rest of those on the course. I was completely wrong. The presenter was calm, polite, efficient and sensible and her manner made it instantly clear this would not be a waste of time. More importantly, the content itself was interesting, important and relevant even to someone who - clearly wrongly in my case - thinks they are a safe driver. I was really impressed. The whole thing was well put together and engaging.

This little guy is incredible: Boat capsizes, he’s in the water - but he listens to his coach, stays calm, uses every skill he learned. No panic, just trust & discipline.

We picked up the Polo today and whilst it is lovely I’m a bit pissed with the dealer. 1, There is bugger all paperwork other than the manual in the folder. No paper mot, service book, v5 new keepers bit or anything. They serviced it but what did they do. Probably oil/filter.

Yesterday,I was asked why the at seat plugs are upside down on the refurbished Voyagers.I've asked train crew and they say that they have not been told an official reason,but believe it is to avoid trip hazards when people stand up,as the cables will be pointing up on most plugs.
