This is extremely important. Please don’t go another minute without knowing you have working smoke alarms and everyone in your home knows and practices your home escape plan. Fire can happen to any of us - please be prepared!

6 weeks into 2025 and we’ve seen 12 fatal fires. Fire doesn’t stop, particularly in the winter months. Our thoughts are with the families, communities, investigators and first responders affected by these tragic events. @ONFireMarshal urges everyone to have a working smoke alarm.

Fatal fires rose last year and though fatalities are down from 2022, the increase in fatal fires is extremely troubling. Each death is a loved one and together we can lower fatal fires in our communities! Test smoke alarms monthly and practice a home fire escape plan. #FireSafety

Four years ago today we lost a friend a brother - Captain Shawn LaRue. He was larger than life and had an impact on everyone who worked with him, especially his crew and Platoon B. We still carry him with us every day, and are thinking of his family and friends today and always.
