All I know is that not a week has gone by in the past several years without a Riley Gaines appearance on a podcast or news outlet or cable network show crossing my timeline. I have never seen someone who's "being silenced" be this consistently visible in the public square.

I have to keep pointing this out. Are these people not American, or just completely fucking stupid? They think it's a good idea to invalidate lawfully cast votes that simply aren't counted by 11:59pm on election day. This is "short bus" level stupid.

Democrats introduced bills to fund part of DHS — 8 times. Republicans passed bills to fund all of DHS — including TSA — through the House twice, with bipartisan support. Senate Democrats blocked full DHS funding 5 times. One side wants to pay TSA workers. The other wants ICE reforms first. Now you know why your security line is 3 hours long.

Democrats introduced bills to end the TSA shutdown on: March 5 March 11 March 12 March 18 March 19 (x2) March 21 March 23 Republicans blocked TSA funding every single time.

Post mark Indicates the day the post was mailed, not received. All votes mailed by election should be counted.

That time delay has nothing to do with transition. Its just an added benefit.

actually, we are one of the few nations who is for some reason unable to do this. I'm curious how old you are because that is a NEW thing in America. we always counted the vote without issue the day of the elections historically. until 2000. why do you think it's such a problem when currently it takes 6 weeks to find out election results in Maricopa County. smh you don't think people are exploiting that type of bs currently? you are also talking about HUMANS. of course, there will be as there currently is, corruption in elections. Let me get this straight. The leading Senate Republican walked into the White House Sunday with a bipartisan deal to end the TSA nightmare. Fund everything except ICE now, get TSA agents paid today, handle ICE separately. Senate Republicans and Democrats said yes. Trump said no. Why? Because Trump is holding TSA workers’ paychecks hostage to try and force Congress to pass the SAVE Act, a voter suppression bill that would knock millions of eligible Americans off the voter rolls. He wants to make it harder for Americans to vote. Like a petulant child flipping the board when he’s losing, Trump torched a bipartisan deal his own Senate leader handed him on a silver platter. His tantrum continues as he unleashes ICE agents into airports. Agents with zero screening training, zero TSA authority, and a good chance of making everything worse. Democrats have been ready to fund TSA from day one. What we refuse to do is write a blank check for an ICE agency that gunned down two American citizens in Minneapolis and still demands the ability to kick down doors without a judge’s approval while hiding behind masks. We will not pass the SAVE Act either. Call it what it is: the SAVE REPUBLICANS Act. Non-citizen voting is already illegal. It was illegal yesterday. It will be illegal tomorrow. This bill solves nothing except the Republican party’s losing electoral math. Fund TSA. Reform ICE. End this today. Trump is the one standing in the way.
