𝐀𝐇𝐁𝐍 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 $𝟑.𝟕𝟓𝐦 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 The Africa Health Budget Network warmly commends the Federal Government on the release of $3.75 million through the Ministry of Health (@Fmohnigeria) in support of the 2025 family planning allocation. This represents approximately 94 percent of the approved budget and signals a strong commitment to protecting critical investments that advance the health and rights of women and girls across the country. This milestone underscores the importance of sustained, evidence driven advocacy and constructive engagement with government, which remains central to AHBN’s work on family planning financing. Working alongside partners, AHBN has consistently AHBN has consistently advance budget tracking, budgetary allocation and timely releases both at national and subnational levels. As we celebrate this progress, AHBN reaffirms its commitment to strengthening accountability for women’s health financing in Nigeria. Continued collaboration with government and partners will be essential to sustain momentum, safeguard gains, and ensure that allocated resources deliver meaningful impact for those who need them most.

Hon Auwal Mohammed Jatau, Deputy Governor of Bauchi State. The Zero Dose Learning Hub (ZDLH) team appreciated the Deputy Governor and the Government of Bauchi State for allocating the 872 Million the ZDLH team advocated last year as the projected Immunization budget for 2025. Responding the Deputy Governor confirmed the release of 261 Million out of the 872 Million and promised to ensure the payment of the remaining money very soon. The AHBN Bauchi State Focal Person Dr Hassan Shuaibu Musa appreciated the Deputy Governor for his continued support to the Zero Dose Learning Hub implementation in the State. The AFENET lead Dr Habila Ismaila and Mallam Mustapha Garba both appreciated the Deputy Governor and the State Government for being proactive and ensuring that Immunization uptake especially in Zero Dose and underserved communities are scaled up.

This is just to update the public that the divers deployed to the scene of the helicopter crash yesterday at the Atlantic Ocean, near Bonny Finima, off the coast of Calabar, during a routine flight are still at work to find the remaining bodies and the wreckage. The Ministry will be making a more comprehensive Press Statement as soon as we achieve some breakthrough.
