@BrandonTierney Rice is one slump away from hitting .250. It’s way too early in the season. BA, slugging, and OBP will fluctuate a lot over the first 81 games. A short slump or hot streak meaningfully shift the metrics.

@BrandonTierney It’s a hot start. His K rate and bat speed are concerning. He’s capable of a breakout season, but likely comes back down to earth. The power should be there, but not the consistency for All-Star level. Brandon Lowe is a solid comp for Rice.

Ben Rice is one of the best hitters in MLB. No qualifiers necessary. He’s that good. Also time to slightly amend the long-running narrative that the “Yanks haven’t developed a position player outside of Judge” in forever. Ben Rice is that dude in every way. Stud.
