@sarah_go_green @SolarEdgePV Happy to pop by and firmware update it / check the logs?
English

Turning it off and on again isn't fixing it.
No solar generation there's an issue with the @SolarEdgePV investor i think.
AND there's blue skys. 😭

English

FFS @elemntor stop with this rubbish.
I have Elementor Pro, paid for, licensed and activated, and you still insist on trying to upsell me (or more annoyingly, clients) to your latest offering.
So many people have been complaining for years, and you still insist on this rubbish!

English

@electrician_247 I’m so excited to try this out! If you want someone to give it a try, let me know!

Perhaps some thought I was playing games on "the portal" I wasnt and arent. This is going to launch in a big way. A transformation in how employers, learners and trainers combine to effect positive outcomes.
The job aspect is the easy and tiny part. The real engine is around education, CPD and involving accredited manufacturer training...
When people collaborate and work together good things can happen.
This another early render on the project evolving which ties towards more than a singular space and objective. I have been keeping my powder dry and beavering away in the background.
Launch is incoming and with the professional photoshoot and videography due we can apply the finishing touches.
No expense has been spared and is forward notice of the funds I am putting into this more widely. We have gone from amateur basement budget efforts to professional community trainers in almost the flick of a switch. Enough was enough.

@josh_p @proteusswitchg @cefonline Side note I am told there will be a board soon with DC isolators, SPDs etc in one enclosure similar to the above to make installs quicker
English

@proteusswitchg going further with renewable energy boards. Now including rotary AC isolators in the board- forgive the missing blank-Its a demo board. Has everything you need for a out the box ready to fitcompliant solar or battery solution

English

@SulisElectrical @proteusswitchg @cefonline Agreed, I treat the rotary as an emergency isolation point that should be physically close to the device it’s isolating.
How many witness checks have you had? I’ve only ever had 1 in 4 years.
English

@josh_p @proteusswitchg @cefonline See your point on double pole rcbo etc as it suffices as point of isolation. Rotary often not required. Guess it comes down to aesthetics and practicalities. DNO down here stipulating lockable AC rotary isolators on g99 visits/checks.

We're doing an installation at the moment on an existing school, We're adding additional panels as the school was built with a number already. We're also converting the entire install SolarEdge and will be bonding the array due to it being an accessible flat roof.
The question has come up on-site, can we re-use the 6 10mm 3 core SWAs the previous installers used or should we be renewing the cable to PV Cable. I've not been following the DC SWA topic at all as we've only used PV Cable to date or a bit of PV Ultra.

@electrician_247 @StemShow @Damon_BPHR I’m glad it’s not just me. At this point I’m incentivised if a job is 45kw to give 6kW for free as it saves me so much hassle.
English

@josh_p @StemShow @Damon_BPHR That is another massive problem that doesn't make sense to me at all either. Who sets these things up lol.
English

Consumer protection codes... Good, bad? What do you think? @Damon_BPHR be interested in your opinion among others.
English

@electrician_247 @StemShow @Damon_BPHR Couldn’t agree more Mark. What’s more funny to me is my average job value is over six figures. Yet I’m required / can’t give them no MCS or protection.
Just very funny to me.
English

@StemShow @josh_p @Damon_BPHR They say the logo gives consumers confidence when browsing our websites.... I say it gives them good exposure to consumers.
Imagine the situation if I refused to return a customers deposit in full. Its a liberty tbh.
English

@SulisElectrical @electrician_247 @StemShow @Damon_BPHR 100%. The fact is if MCS are reviewing businesses, the money will be 99% safe.
Consumer codes mean 0 for the consumer, and a bottom line hit for installers.
English

@josh_p @electrician_247 @StemShow @Damon_BPHR MCS could even mandate deposits made through an MCS payment platform as those payment fees even at 1% would quickly add up to a tidy sum that could be used to protect the customer if all goes wrong
English

@SulisElectrical @electrician_247 @StemShow @Damon_BPHR 100%, if consumers want security, then use Section 75 of the consumer credit act. MCS should mandate use of credit cards and remove IBG and Consumer Codes.
English

@josh_p @electrician_247 @StemShow @Damon_BPHR The consumer codes have more holes than swiss cheese! Same as most insurance backed warranties.
English

@electrician_247 @StemShow @Damon_BPHR Last time I looked at the reviews of the major consumer protections codes they were mostly negative. Seems like they’re not liked by consumers or installers alike.
English

Very much dictating to us the paying consumer of what they want. Its blatant bullying of smaller contractors imho. We left for RECC and they still took a full annual fee from our bank and will now only return 50% which I find stunning. Imagine doing that to a solar customer and what they expect of us! Im trying very very hard not to go full idiot and make them a special video all about the irony and warn the public exactly what these mobs do and how it impacts bills.
English

@StemShow @electrician_247 @Damon_BPHR A certain consumer body has updated there required logo like 3 times in the past 2 years from what I feels like. If you don’t update their logo within a month is a none conformity and you’ll be ultimately kicked off.
English

@electrician_247 @josh_p @Damon_BPHR Can you elaborate for those at the back please? 😂 So you must put their logo on your website? I wouldn't. My customers should assume I would be a member of the appropriate bodies and I wouldn't want to ruin my website design with loads of logos. 🤷
English

@electrician_247 @Damon_BPHR Please do! Start a go fund me and I’d chip in!
English

@josh_p @Damon_BPHR Dont start me on the logo! Ive sent them a bill for the logo they wanted on our website. They love an admin charge and annual fee so got a taste in return. I intend to pursue that through the courts if I have to
English

I tried using a iPad for a while, but couldn’t complete all the tasks needed (even with a keyboard).
If you’re all used to using Macs then I’d stick with that. I’ve just checked OneNote is available for Mac now which is brilliant.
Also I’d get a Powebank that can power the Mac as plugs can be sparse sometimes
English

@josh_p Brill! We are a Mac family! Anything on that you think would help? But she's defo need a laptop for college? Her one is about to die so need to sort.

@CurrentEnSol That seems reasonable to me if she’s not paid for the installation? If the council owns the property and has paid for the installation it’s like any commercial landlord situation
