@DawnSunrise1 It convenient when 99 % of the time it works and you tap and go. No faffing around counting out coins and having to go to cash point in the first place. All the transactions are on your phone so you know what you’re spending your money on.
@AvonandsomerRob Yeah I know 🤷🏻 just yesterday they said there’s a pill coming out so when you stop taking Mounjaro it helps to keep the weight off ! WTF a drug to replace another drug. Big Pharma you gotta love it 😂
So I walk in to Royal Marsden Haematology and instantly I’ve made my decision. I’m here to see the head honcho for the lowdown on my AML. Obviously he’ll need my latest blood results for information/consideration. Receptionist:
“Because you’re a new patient (six years under the care of the NATIONAL health service for the same condition at a hospital ten miles away) you’re to see the doctor “for a review” before you have a blood test in TWO HOURS time.”
“Why can’t we do the blood test now, so the doctor has the information to review me, properly?”
“That’s not the way it works for new patients”
What the fuck is the point of talking to a consultant about the state of my blood when he has no blood results to look at? And then you want me to hang around for two hours for a blood test I can get done anywhere.
They have the staff, they have the facilities, the expertise and the resources but they couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery if their lives depended on it. EG If all you’re going to do is talk to me hypothetically and don’t need what’s inside my body to facilitate that, try picking up the fucking telephone and save me half an increasingly precious day of grief and let the doctor get a lot more work done. 🤬
I have to go private, this isn’t good for my health. 🙈
Any other installers know how the Sigenergy compensation scheme works. I received a work order to replace a battery the battery was delivered and it indicated that I would be paid 200. Battery replaced and I can’t work how how to get them to collect old one or to get paid ?
@mrmikeMTL Yes it happens to all of us when you hit late 50’s a gene activities in your brain that makes you grumpy, shout at the tv news and think the world was a better place years ago.
@bo66ie29 They can but the amount of extra in cost would make most houses unaffordable. Plenty of Architects that if you said “ money no object designed me a beautiful architectural masterpiece” would design something as stunning as this. Labour & materials were cheaper in Victorian times
@WithnailsTrench@wendyburn Well it started from 2021 rather than 2020 for a start.
Just imagine if the ONS allowed proper anonymised analysis of all medical issues for comparable jabbed and unjabbed cohorts. That would resolve a lost of arguments, but of course they won't do that.
Just had my shingles vaccination, had to pay as not eligible on the NHS. Told the vaccinator I was doing it to reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease and she said her last customer was a neuroscientist there for the same reason. 💉
@ElectricSingh Yeah right spend many thousands of dollars on a car a scrimp on a car charger. Not sure about Aussie electric but if you run a car charging on a standard outlet for many many hours the socket will overheat.
Stop letting electricians upsell you. You probably don’t need a $2,000 fast charger for your new EV. 🛑
I just plugged in my new Tesla Model Y RWD for the very first time using a standard 10-amp socket, the exact same one I use for my kettle.
Here is why this is actually the ultimate setup for daily driving. 🧵👇
The myth: Standard plugs are "too slow."
The reality: A 10A Aussie socket gives you about 2-3kW. Over a 10-hour overnight charge, that’s 100-150km of range added.
The average Aussie drives less than 40km a day. I’ll be literally waking up to a surplus of range every single morning.
But here is where the math gets ridiculous.
Because we run a solar and battery setup here in Melbourne, that slow trickle charge is pulling purely off the sun.
My daily commute cost in the Model Y? Aproxx.. $0.00. ☀️🔋
I also have a diesel in the driveway. A brilliant car, but filling that diesel tank is going to sting every time.
The Tesla has completely flipped the script. It’s not just a car; it’s an extension of the home energy grid.
If you’re thinking about making the switch to an EV but worried about "charging infrastructure," look at your garage wall. You already have it.

@OctopusEnergy@AlexH9901 I see many posts and the Octopus social media team seem to be able to get straight to route of the issue. Do the rest of the Octopus customer service team need retraining so customers don’t have to reach out to Social Media?
Hi @OctopusEnergy I had a chat with your team a few months ago about which batteries to get to ensure compatibility with Intelligent Octopus Flux, I've now paid a premium to have that system fitted and your customer service now have said it's disabled. When will this be fixed?
Found out during my 180 mile drive today that the Renault has a self drive mode. The car steers itself on the motorway 😧
Very unnerving and probably illegal to engage at the moment?
@RoryMaw Find out who the ceo of the hospital trust where you have the CT scan & write them a letter explain all of this to them and see what they have to say. You make some valid points and this needs to be taken up
An example of how the NHS wastes money and ignores the needs of its patients.
I’ve an appointment next week for a CT scan that I can no longer make. I call the number provided on the confirmation email and am told “I’m sorry but there are no agents available to take your call. Please call back later.”
That is the third time I have called. How many more times will people try?
There’s no online portal, the email address is “No reply”, I can’t speak to anyone. A business that operated this way would cease to be!
@RanTeeThree 💯 correct I have a Renault Van. When you select climate control it lets you decide on the temperature then IT decides how hard it’s going to blow and where. Often I’m blasted with warm air in the face when I want cosy feet ! The moment you change the direction CC switch off.
I rented a a car on the weekend. They gave me a bastard Renault. I’m convinced Renault are trying to put themselves out of business. The number of fucking beeps and bings and warnings and alerts and fucking interventions make it impossible to just concentrate on driving.
Rant… I know lots of contractors do this but we do not. Really frustrating to loose a job to a contractor (put loosely) who is prepared to cut the DNO supply fuse seal rather than doing it properly. #frustrating#electrical#shouldallbeonsameside#installtion
Solar panels, rails, and fixings have just arrived from City Plumbing.
Feel heavier than the 27kg they actually are.
Don't know how I'm getting these on top of the shed roof! 😆
This was a message loudly delivered at the ESF event down in london last week. The response was it can be changed. Its effecting lecturers as well which I wasn't aware of. So while atm nothing has changed pressure is mounting and mistakes I hope will be corrected. You have reminded me to chase that up as they need to move quickly around this.
I will certainly keep messaging as strongly as I can for change.
Hope you are well and business is good.
