Mayor Brett Smiley and law enforcement officials have confirmed the individual responsible for the Brown University mass shooting has been found deceased. Claudio Manuel Neves Valente died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in New Hampshire after warrants were issued charging him with murder and related offenses. Our hearts go out to the victims of this awful tragedy. Thank you to our law enforcement partners as well as all of our neighbors who were instrumental throughout the investigation.

I am forever grateful for @PVDMayor’s steady hand during this dark day for Providence. Proud to call him a friend, a mentor, and one of the finest public servants I have ever known.

@BrianCNewberry Hey Rep! Spot on. Kim served as a prosecutor under three AGs and prosecuted hundreds of felony domestic violence and sexual assault cases.

Isn't the primary job of the Rhode Island Attorney General to prosecute criminals and make sure our communities are safe? Isn't that at least in the job description?
