Understand this: The movies and shows about the crucifixion have been tame when compared to what He actually went through. Even The Passion Of The Christ was forced to hold back a little in order to avoid an X rating. Crucifixion was, and still is, arguably the most excruciating death someone can experience. The night before in Gethsemane, He was sweating blood. This is known as hematidrosis. This would have caused His skin to become extremely sensitive, thus making the beatings to come even worse. The fear He felt was the beginning of His feeling the weight of our iniquities being laid on Him. Yet - in this moment, He didn’t demand that the Father take it from Him. He only asked for the cup to pass Him over if it was within the Father’s will. Up next came the Cat of Nine Tails, or a Roman Flagrum. This was a weapon with long leather “tails”, each embedded with sharp bones and metal. He was flogged 39 times as Jewish law mandated “40 minus one”, because 40 was said to kill a man. This flogging wasn’t like being punished by your father’s leather belt. Every strike tore flesh, every strike exposed muscle. Every strike exposed nerve endings. Every strike tore flesh to the bone. This would be like getting struck with razor blades over and over again, leading to hypovolemic shock from blood loss. Oh, and the crown of thorns? These weren’t rose thorns. These were thorns which were 2-3 inches long. Beaten into his skull. These thorns would have pierced his skull, tripping the trigeminal nerve, thus causing unimaginable pain and even more blood loss from the dozens of head wounds. At this point, extreme nausea and dizziness would begin to set in. What came next? Carrying the cross. Which weighed around 300lbs. This would be like carrying two full kegs on your back. Splinters and wood grating against the open flesh on His back. And He had to carry it 650 yards, or close to a half mile. Imagine carrying a log on your back after being skinned alive. Up next? He was nailed to the cross with spikes 5-7in in length. Piercing His wrists - this no doubt pierced the median nerve, causing extreme burning sensations up and down His arms. A spike was driven through his ankles - severing nerves and tendons. This would have felt like standing on broken glass every time He pushed Himself up in order to breathe. He suffered for 6 hours. His chest muscles collapsing, making every single breath a fight for life. His shoulders were dislocated, His arms stretching unnaturally long. His heart was struggling to pump blood. He was extremely dehydrated, His lips cracking. His heart more than likely literally ruptured from the stress. And on top of all of that, He had to feel a separation with the Father for a period of time in order to REALLY bear the weight of our sin. He took up this burden for ALL sin before Him, and ALL sin which came after Him. HE DID IT ALL FOR US. To free us. To defeat sin. To give us a pathway to the Kingdom. Every sin we commit is exactly why He had to do it. And the real kicker? He knew what was coming when He rode into Jerusalem … and He didn’t turn around. He kept going. For us.

@bgrisakTST You’re correct.. Special teams all year have been mostly garbage.. the secondary seems to like to give 7-8 yards cushion on most downs.. McVay is successful due to the explosive talent on offense. AND, He got out coached in Chicago, and in Seattle.

This loss is on special teams and the defense. The Rams offense scored 27 points. Stafford threw for over 300+ yards against the No. 1 defense. Defense couldn't stop a nosebleed and Xavier Smith lost the game with a fumble.

@TonyDungy @Kapspace I would agree with you here, but Stafford was on a heater that drive. Seemed as though the momentum was on the Ram’s side at that point.

Will the Rams lose because they went on 4th and 4 instead of getting 3? The Broncos know something about not getting 3 points.

Congressman Tim Burchett says we MUST pass the SAVE Act Plus He explains “It really does 3 things: - It says that you have to be an American citizen to vote. Gosh, who'd be against that? I'll tell you who. The machine politics, the gutless Republicans and the hard left Marxist Democrats. They don't want us to succeed. They want status quo - Another thing it says is the states, when you register, you have to show some kind of ID that verifies you're an American citizen, a passport, a birth certificate or something. You have to show a driver's license ID to buy a six pack of beer, a gun, to get a checking account, to fly on an airplane, and just about anything anymore - The third thing, it does, it requires the states to clean up their voter roll. Who would be against that? I tell you who would. Some of the criminals that we've got in our United States Congress, they want to continue being elected by dead people, by illegals, and others. You go to Georgia and you see these accounts every day. Where there's 25 or 30 people registered to vote in a vacant lot that has a porta potty in it. Yeah, the crooked machine doesn't wanna clean that up 'cause it keeps them in power. — We gotta get out, let's clean this thing up. Call your United States Senator. Let's take our country back, folks. Today's the day to do it. Thank y'all so much for sending me here. Pray for our country”

@tjmcaulay The whistle stops the play. If it is deemed that the whistle was “erroneous” then the team has the opportunity to replay the down. The whistle stops the play to protect the players. Anyone who has played sports, as well as any fan knows this.

When a backward pass is ruled forward and incomplete, Replay can reverse if there is a clear recovery in the immediate continuing action. The recovering team is awarded the ball at the spot of recovery. Let me make this perfectly clear: whether a whistle is blown or not is completely irrelevant.

🚨 FINAL THOUGHT ON THE “TREASONOUS SIX” Let’s be real: If the exact same words these six lawmakers just said were spoken by any active-duty officer in uniform, downrange, during combat, their careers wouldn’t just be over — they’d be court-martialed before sunrise. Here’s why. Under the UCMJ, in a war zone, this kind of statement would trigger: Article 88 — Contemptuous speech (instant court-martial for officers) Article 92 — Violating or undermining lawful orders Article 133 — Conduct unbecoming an officer Article 134 — Subversive statements damaging good order & discipline Article 94 — Mutiny or Sedition (the nuclear option — life in prison) In other words: their goose would be cooked. No debate. No excuses. No “free speech” cover. In uniform, on duty, in theater — this is deadly serious. And here’s the part nobody wants to say out loud 👉 If an enemy nation made the same statement, it would be treated as a hostile foreign influence operation — even an act of aggression. Words that undermine U.S. military obedience have real-world consequences in war. But these six? They hide behind their civilian status and congressional immunity, despite the fact that several still hold military commissions, receive retirement pay, and swore the SAME oath every officer takes. They didn’t betray a party. They betrayed the oath that supposedly follows them for life. And that’s why, in my opinion: They should immediately resign their military commissions. If they truly believe what they said, then stand on it openly — not behind the shield of civilian status while enjoying the professional prestige (and legal insulation) of being retired officers. You can’t have it both ways. If these statements would be illegal, disloyal, and actionable in uniform, in combat, in real military life, then the men and women who said them should not continue holding the honor of a commission they just trampled. Let’s call this what it is: Not courage. Not conscience. But the weaponizing of civilian loopholes to say what they’d never dare say in a war zone — where the consequences are real. If they want the freedom of civilian speech, fine. But then give up the rank. Give up the commission. Give up the retirement pay. Give up the uniform they’ve effectively turned their backs on. That’s the standard every honorable officer I’ve ever known would understand. @POTUS @VP @SecWar @JudgeJeanine @PamBondi

Someone asked me what is “salvation.” Well…let’s just think this through together. Salvation is not a cosmic rewards program where you rack up good deeds like frequent flyer miles and then cash them in at the pearly gates. It is not a rigid election lottery where you just hope your name was pulled out of a hat before you were even born. It is not about checking boxes, it is not about belonging to the right club, it is not about being the guy who memorized the most Bible verses or baked the most casseroles for church potlucks. At its core salvation is grace. Grace is God’s favor. The fact that you and I wake up with breath in our lungs is already a testimony of grace. Grace is like God saying you cannot climb this mountain so I am coming down to carry you. But grace by itself just floating out there does not save anyone. It is accessed through faith. Faith is not just believing God exists like you believe Wi-Fi exists because you cannot see it but you use it. Faith is trusting that Jesus is enough. Faith is saying my works will never get me across the finish line but His sacrifice will. What about “works” or “good deeds?” This get sticky because people love to argue. Do works save you? No. Do works matter? Absolutely. Works are like the evidence that something real has happened inside of you. They are the fruit hanging off the tree that prove the roots are alive. If you say you have faith but your life is the same selfish, bitter mess it always was, then maybe you are not actually connected to the vine. Works do not buy salvation, they show salvation happened. Then there is election. The big mystery word that makes Christians sweat. Some people think it means God just picked favorites and the rest are doomed. Others think it means God foreknew who would believe and just wrote it down ahead of time. Here is where I land: election means God is sovereign and He calls, He draws, He pursues, but humans still respond. It is both divine choice and human responsibility colliding. It is like God sends out the invitation and even gives you the clothes to wear to the banquet but you still have to walk through the door. So what is salvation? It is grace offered, faith received, works revealed, and election underscoring that God is in control from start to finish. It is not a math equation, it is a miracle. And the beauty is, if you have it, you know it, because something inside of you shifts. You stop striving to prove yourself and you start living like someone who has already been loved, already been chosen, already been rescued. That is salvation. It is not complicated but it is profound. It is not earned but it costs everything. It is not fragile but it demands response. It is the gift that changes everything. So, step into the grace that has already been poured out for you, because salvation is not about what you can do but about what Christ has already done. Any questions?

Pastor Aaron gave the message at New Hope West—How to navigate roadblocks we face in life? God can use roadblocks to direct us to follow His will. When we face roadblocks do we get discouraged or do we seek God more? When we face roadblocks we need to remember God is in control. Roadblocks don’t have to end our trip. We don’t have to give up our journey and turn around. We just need to find out which way God wants us to go.

Pulling samples on a cornfield south of Bloomington, Illinois. Finding a variety of issues, all minor so far. Northern corn, leaf blight, western corn rootworm beetles, grape collapsis adults, and the beginnings of nitrogen deficiency on the lower leaves. Also see a few gray leaf spot lesions on Lauer leaves.
