Today marks exactly 36 years since the release of President @NelsonMandela on 11th February 1990. Earlier this morning, President @CyrilRamaphosa visited the Madiba House, which housed Nelson Mandela during the final years of his imprisonment.
That historic walk from Madiba House marked a decisive turning point in South Africa’s journey towards democracy, culminating in the election of Nelson Mandela as the country’s first democratically elected President in 1994.

At 16:53, Haiti stands still. We honour the 300,000 souls lost in the 2010 earthquake. Their memory commands our duty. Sixteen years on, remembrance endures, and renewal begins. #January12 #HaitiRemembers #HaitiSouthAfrica #haitiearthquake
