A very strange pitch by some tech people: our technology will produce depression-level unemployment and might even end civilization entirely. And it is a mystery why large segments of the public are rebelling against Big Tech?
Jim VandeHei@JimVandeHei

Anthropic has warned that its own technology could bring the end of civilization. Check out its latest job listings to understand how. Why it matters: Anthropic has 32 very scary job openings for roles designed to prevent people from using AI to build everything from man-made explosives to nuclear weapons. axios.com/2026/07/15/ant…

Honestly at this point it's in $TSLA shareholders best interest to fire elon so he can focus on his other projects. He has become a liability to tesla. Anybody with Tim Cook's caliber would have a 5k unsupervised fleet in Austin already. I appreciate his contributions to tesla this far, but it's time to part our ways. I do share and believe his vision to push humanity to be multi-planetary species, but we can totally do it without screwing over tesla's most loyal shareholders. I can totally continue to fund that mission by owning spacex shares.

I miss seeing Elon’s velocity trained on Tesla’s operations. Back in the day, Elon’s focus on a given area in Tesla’s ops pretty much guaranteed speed and throughput. He went founder mode on Model 3 manufacturing, Autopilot development, and Giga Austin buildout. But then… Twitter, war with the Left, xAI, SpaceX. I could go on but don’t want to trigger TSLA investors. Elon going founder mode on Tesla today would look like insanely intense Robotaxi rollout, non-stop talk about the need for FSD approval globally, FSD v14 Lite wide distribution immediately, Cybercab operation today. We are clearly missing this.

@MobofJoggers The dog is ok! The guy said in their Reddit post that they ended up turning around and retrieving the dog, who was hit, and took it to a vet where it was cared for and survived!

Wow. FSD chooses between hitting a dog and hitting a car head on. This is an important but difficult video to watch. FSD makes the right choice!

@garyboomer58 Yep, typical boomer behavior. House probably paid off cause he bought it in 1950 for $10 and a dozen eggs, charges his son what it cost to pay all the utilities, insurance, so on, just so he lives cost free. Typical story of boomers fucking over the next generation.

It’s time! My mom will be saying goodbye to her 2023 Model X (lease end). She’s most excited about Frost Blue, she’s been obsessed with that color since it came out. She loved the automatic doors on the X and isn’t a fan of “downgrading”, but unfortunately Tesla left her with no choice as my parents now rely heavily on FSD and they will no longer consider a vehicle that doesn’t have it.

She walked toward him pointing a gun.. He walked toward her. She fired when he was stepping in her direction. Stand your ground means she has no duty to retreat. It doesn’t mean you get to shoot someone walking toward you, you must have a reasonable fear for your life or severe bodily harm. Based on the video, I cannot see where this fear was reasonable. There’s are no aggressive moves. If there are also no verbal threats, then it is tough to see how she was reasonably in fear of life or limb. Do you see that here?

🇺🇸A 62-year-old Army veteran was killed in a North Lauderdale Walmart parking lot during an argument over a parking space. Bart Diguglielmo was shot by a woman after the pair got into a verbal dispute over a spot on Tuesday. The woman told deputies the shooting was in self-defense, while footage of the scene shows Diguglielmo was not armed and approached her with his hands up. Diguglielmo, a retired nurse and Desert Storm veteran, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The case will be reviewed by the State Attorney’s Office.

@ChadMoran @briandstone The headline is trash and misleading. There was hardly enough information to label self-driving as a disaster. These type of sensationalized headlines may get clicks in the short term but lack substance

@koalafiedtesla @briandstone Not somewhat misleading, very misleading. The data labelers state they they routinely saw instance of FSD exceed the speed limit. This is hardly a disaster

@briandstone But they're reporting someone's choice and opinion (which is that they wouldn't ride in a Robotaxi even if paid.) The journalism is true, even if somewhat misleading. Is choice and opinion suddenly a bad thing, though?

The longevity world is crowded with expensive answers. After years inside it, the ones I actually trust are almost embarrassingly cheap. 8 hour Sleeps. Weight lifting for Muscle. Exposured to Sunlight. Things you do, not things you buy.
