@EricCrossMLB It be interesting to see those k rates in today’s game where pitchers are throwing 90 mph sliders and triple digit fastballs. Guaranteed no one is sniffing near 10% and slugging out 200 bombs.

@southsidejoe20 @whitesox @JRFegan If your statement was true, Acuna, Benintendi, Quero would be long gone based simply on accountability.
English

@jsanchez1878 @whitesox @JRFegan Getz is doing the best with what he has keeping guys accountable. If you don’t perform you’re gone . It’s refreshing
English
@soxmachine_josh That guy has to be telling teams “hire me or I’ll kick your ass”. Only reason I can explain why he keeps finding work.
English

@robertsteele135 @Garrettaey @ChiSoxFanMike Ok, he has the 2nd best WAR for SS in the AL. Is that better?
English

@Garrettaey @ChiSoxFanMike homers aren't the only stat that matters + sox tax
English
@MSuareo He’s 24, it’s sink or swim time. I don’t care about home /road splits in AAA.

I’d rather see the Sox give Gonzalez some run over Beni, but I’d also proceed with caution. There’s about a 400 point difference in his OPS in home games vs away games, and Truist Field is basically the Triple-A equivalent of Coors Field.
He’s tweaked his swing, is making good swing decisions, and is hitting the ball harder, so I’m not trying to write him off. But with this being really his only productive season since being drafted, I’m not gonna bank on him producing at the MLB level quite yet.

In his age-24 season, Jacob Gonzalez is slashing .288/.417/.575 with a .982 OPS, 11 home runs and 39 RBIs. Last year, he slashed .204/.310/.283. Incredible turnaround that deserves a call up soon. He’s been a casualty of the White Sox replacement players playing so well.

@JamesFox917 I don’t get why people have to make this into a social event, with dining and excessive drinking involved. Just like the playoffs, get in , sit down, enjoy the game.
English
@JamesFox917 How about just going to a game (especially one of significance which is really the only reason 40k are in attendance) and parking your rear on your assigned seat for a few hours to enjoy the play on the field and great weather?
English

This sounds awful honestly. That stadium isn’t equipped to make it a pleasant experience with this many people in the building unfortunately.

The opener of Cubs-White Sox draws 38,723, the first sellout of the season. It's their third crowd over 30,000 this season. (Sox were averaging 17,605 coming into the game.)
English
@TripleAJeff It was sarcasm based on today’s events. However, I do find the Hagen Smith bullpen idea intriguing. That’s where Crochet and Sale started their ML careers.
English

@jsanchez1878 I'm not sure how many of these relievers I'd trust in Chicago. Ben Peoples, maybe Chris Murphy. Getting Jordan Leasure back on track may be the best option. Maybe Hagen Smith to the pen isn't such a bad idea, at least for this year.
English

Knights win 4-1 behind excellent relief pitching and a relentless offense that pounded out 13 hits and 2 homers.
Hagen Smith goes 3.2, giving up a run on 2 hits and 5 walks (plus 6 Ks). Brandon Eisert, Jordan Leasure, Ben Peoples, Jackson Kelly and Zach Franklin scattered 4 hits and no runs over the final 5.1 innings.
Offensively, the Knights got homers from Michael Turner and LaMonte Wade, and 2 hits apiece from Turner, Wade, Braden Montgomery (who also made another really nice play defensively in CF), Korey Lee, Oliver Dunn and Mario Camilletti.

@TripleAJeff @FutureSox Not giving up on him, it will click eventually (stuff is too good). But I am giving up counting on him to be a contributor to the big club this season.
English

Trouble in the third for Hagen Smith. A leadoff single off of a fastball, another single off an ok slider, a sacrifice fly and a walk before a double play ends the threat as the bullpen stirs again. Knights trail 1-0, B3. 61 pitches for Smith.

@things_sox About the only positive I see so far is his age.
English
@MLBBruceLevine @Rahimi_Harris Call up Jacob Gonzalez and rotate DH with the other 4 IFs. Launch Acuna and Benintendi. Two birds with one stone.
English

Venable on @Rahimi_Harris said Colson Montgomery is the shortstop for the most part ,except when Vargas is DH or out of the lineup he will play 3B.
English
@lakeview487 It goes both ways. Guys are also playing under expectations like Shane Smith, Quero, Teel (hurt), Hays (hurt).
English

Im not sure Im ready to call the #WhiteSox legit yet. Still a lot of guys out-playing expectations at the bottom of the roster.
However, this team was always supposed to get better as the year went on. So the fact that were sitting here and theyre above 500 is a huge development
English
@paytonsun 16-1. You have to rest the starters for the finale
English

@TripleAJeff Even you put him back to back with H Smith, they’d struggle to cover 6 innings. Very frustrating.
English

This is becoming so frustratingly commonplace for Knights’ starters. After a brilliant first inning, David Sandlin’s control wanes. He gets 2 more strikeouts, but loads the bases with 2 walks and a single, has a lot of deep counts and probably was 1 batter away from being pulled because of his pitch count. He’s at 50 pitches thru 2 innings. Garrett Schoenle takes over T3.
The Knights are desperate to have a starter go beyond 2 or 3 innings.
@FutureSox
English
@Noahp245 I understand a LH on the mound. But your RH options suck equally vs LH. Makes no difference.

Will Venable going with a heat check today I see lol
