Two things can be true at the same time: 1. Transgender people deserve protections and rights. 2. Biological sex matters in many sports, and to an enormous degree. If you can't accept #1 you are likely cruel. If you can't accept #2 you are likely misinformed or delusional.

The beauty of track and field is there's no faking it, no hiding behind teammates on rough days. You're exposed, vulnerable. It's you, alone, out on that track. This sport will humble you, even those who are among the top in the world.

Many of us think we are the elite performer who is looking for the final 1% to push us to gold. The reality is...most of us are the person who needs to simply exercise most days, eat some vegetables, take a walk, sleep more, and that would boost our performance and well-being.

I lived in #Paris in the 90s. A city totally dominated by cars. Hard to walk in, a nightmare to ride a bike in. Look at it now: a city where cars, rather than people, have trouble moving. Which, in the overheated, hurricane-plagued 2020s, is how a city *should* look.
