Fruitful meeting in Vienna with @OSCE Secretary General Feridun Hadi Sinirlioğlu. Discussed Moldova–OSCE cooperation, the regional security situation, and the OSCE’s role in the Transnistrian settlement. Reaffirmed our commitment to OSCE principles of peace & security in Europe.

A UN vote on a lasting peace in Ukraine and we abstained. Go figure. The Russian Federation was against the proclamation. Is not four years of war enough? Is not missing children, shelling of cities and the killing of innocents enough? It is not a business deal-it is war.

Kyiv Metro is down because of the blackout. No water or heating in the city either. This is the hardest winter for Ukraine so far. People show incredible resilience but the situation is extremely difficult. Ukraine needs more support now. 🇺🇦 📷 Nastya Nagorna

With the Chairman of the 🇩🇪 Bundestag Committee on Foreign Affairs @ArminLaschet and the members of the committee @RKiesewetter, @Knut_Abraham, @StefanKeuterAfD, and @jschraps, we discussed Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, but also focused on the fact that Russia poses a threat far beyond Ukraine. Through its hybrid activities and growing provocations, Russia is a threat to NATO Allies, and facing that challenge requires unity, vigilance, and a strengthened deterrence posture.

Russia launched 52 cruise and ballistic missiles alongside 653 Shahed attack drones in its latest air strikes on Ukraine overnight which largely targeted critical infrastructure. Numerous cities were hit including those in western Ukraine.

Great follow-up to our Berlin workshop — hosted in the Bundestag by @jschraps (SPD) for a constructive exchange with 🇩🇪 policymakers on #EUdefense & the #WesternBalkans. We shared key insights from our experts and partners. Europe’s security future is a shared one. 🇪🇺

The return of Ukrainian children abducted and illegally deported by Russia is a priority for us. This is a big challenge for me, first of all, and for the diplomatic group of Ukraine. We can exchange our warriors and prisoners of other categories. But we cannot exchange children with the Russians, and it’s understandable why. During my meeting with the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Pere Joan Pons Sampietro @perejoanpons, I proposed appointing a special envoy under the OSCE PA President to focus specifically on the return of Ukrainian children. We must bring them back to their families, to their loved ones. And the voice of the OSCE and its parliamentarians is very important. We also touched on another equally important issue – our joint efforts to bring back prisoners of war and civilians illegally held by Russia. I thank the President for understanding the importance of maintaining pressure on Russia. I am grateful for the visit, and we deeply appreciate the Assembly’s support for Ukraine and its readiness to join the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children.
