The latest polling shows the Greens would win 71 seats and almost all of them would be in very left wing cities with lots of university students, hardcore activists, and immigrants. Abusing political office to coerce or exert influence over voters to behave in a particular way, or punish them for not doing so, is not politics, it is authoritarianism and unacceptable to anyone who values democracy.

@JamesGillespieX @DPJHodges Other variables drive suitability,not just cost. Staffing. Convenience of access for legal representatives.Access to transport the refugees. Lewisham and Brighton seem ideal locations with this in mind. House values will collapse too so making future expansion cheaper.

@ju25378 @DPJHodges If it's a detention centre, it doesn't really matter whether the local community welcomes them, because they won't be allowed to leave the premises. It's sensible to build detention centres in the most cost effective areas, so outside of city centres.

@ju25378 @DPJHodges Those who think illegal immigrants enrich the nation will object to the fact it's a detention centre. But even locals in left leaning areas don't like having prisons, young offenders' institutions, detention centres or whatever built there.
