Times of great delicacy such as these are a stark reminder that the very idea of either Kemi Badenoch or Nigel Farage being in charge of the UK’s foreign and defence policy is utterly laughable. Serious issues need serious people.

Larry, the 19 year-old Downing Street cat caught a mouse … while Prime Minister Starmer was conducting a live press conference right outside Number 10! Good job, Larry. It’s great to see someone in Downing Street is working hard!

They walked out after Starmer told Lee Anderson he couldn’t play with his Ker Plunk even though it was the last day before the Easter holidays.

@AndieDelicacy @ydnhkrm He used to come to a theatre I was working in and he was always surrounded by at least 6 “dolly birds”. He had a very nasty smirk on his face too.

@ydnhkrm Walliams up until quite recently. Tarantino. Anyway, my controversial addition is Austin Butler. Nobody cares if they're hot though.

You don't protect Christianity by banning the burqa. If you want to promote Christianity go to church.

I’ve just arrived in London with a large case (& my cane), and am making my way to Eurostar on the Tube. No fewer than 3 young people have spontaneously offered to carry my case down/upstairs (2 women, 1 man, 3 distinct ethnicities). Such kindness. My day is made. @SarahLudford

@sandalsonfeet @judelark @ItsTheDumbAges That’s the thing. Nothing is what it seems anyway. So one person’s understanding of something isn’t necessarily the same as another person’s or it may not even be factual or true, so best not mention it at all.

It all got a bit wokey-cokey at church last Sunday. In a a part of his sermon, the rector talked about Tommy Robinson and what he saw as his co-optation of Christianity for a racist agenda, therefore making his claim to have become Christian dubious. Don't get me wrong, I share some of the Rev's concerns about Robinson BUT I don't get to decide on the sincerity of his coming to faith because I can't possibly know his mind. I also don't get to judge him on his past because that - as far as I understand it - isn't terribly Christian. I mean to say, the most famous cathedral in London is named after a man who held the coats at St Stephen the Martyr's stoning before his Damascene conversion (literally) to following Christ. Maybe TR is a grifter, maybe he's genuine. Only time will tell. I've only been a full-on God botherer for a mere handful of months and even in that short period of time, I've changed in a number of ways. Prayer and reading the Bible tends to do that. Let's give TR a chance to work himself out before proclaiming him insufficiently Christian. Here endeth the lesson, go in peace.

@ItsTheDumbAges @goose67515820 We have a congregation of around 20. At 72 I am one of the younger members. A few weeks ago our priest’s sermon was about Forgiveness and what an amazing thing Erika Kirk had done forgiving her husband’s killer. I don’t think many of them knew who he was talking about, or why.

@goose67515820 I don't have a problem with a sermon including political comment as long as that stems from scripture.
