Today was one of the best sightseeing days of my life! I had breakfast at Castle Cardiff, climbed the Salisbury Cathedral bell tower, saw the world's best preserved original print of the Magna Carta, and then I happened to wander into the Salisbury Cathedral Choir practice. @AlisonMoyet Again-janey! No need to have a go at me. I'm just stunned that things were even more backward for women in the UK than they were in Ireland. There were certainly issues for some unmarried mothers-basically the ones who's families didn't give a shit about them.

I can’t pretend not to know the struggles women faced & continue to. In my life time here some subjects were not open to us at school. I needed my father’s signature to open a bank account. In my ‘Hay Day’ my husband was responsible for my tax returns. Memories are so short.
