So 4 years ago @RandiGloss of @GLOSSRAGS & I sat down about a project of making portraits of many of the people we've lost to police, state , White supremacy based violence & at the time I was trying to be more of curator & help her find artists to help make all these portraits.

@DavidDTSS I think Iceman is pretty horrible. Maid of Honour is more interesting sonically and didn't feel like a complete waste of my attention. Gotta try Habbitia next.

Got no desire to finish out those other two albums. Iceman is…fine? Mid? Unremarkable? It’s not like objectionable bad like the last couple and he seems to want to make a good album at least? I don’t know I’m kinda bored.

The problem with One Last Kill is it's too short. That's who Frank Castle is. No mercy. Very much like the comics. It needed more space to breathe. But Berenthal is the best Punisher by far and RMG did a great job directing. About to watch it again.

@Richmond_Lee Interesting. Maybe it was the crowd you were in. I was Pratt then and most of the people knew there didn't look down on animation especially anime. Was still getting tapes from Chinatown then.

That was in New York City in the year 2000 (I attended the Pratt Institute my freshman year). Maybe it's better these days. I'm certain it is. I think we are living in an age where it's just normal that someone loved Naruto back in the day. But in the 2000s anime was very niche.

@ChrisPeleoLazar @Bernstein Oh he was great. Just going into it he didn't really have that in him. Overall that film aged well but wasn't big when it came out.

@julianlytle @Bernstein He was fairly similar to his character in Legends of the Fall. I’m a classicist and didn’t mind his performance. He kinda got how emotionally imbalanced Achilles was in the text and an animal while having moments of clarity. I don’t love his character in the text either

@ChrisPeleoLazar @Bernstein Nah there were reservations about Pitt because he never did stuff like this before really.

@Bernstein I don’t remember that being the case. I’m 43. I remember people really upset that the movie didn’t invoke the divine portions. For the record, I really enjoy the movie still. The DC improves a lot.

#PunisherOneLastKill is an easy favorite for me. Jon Bernthal gives one of the strongest performances in the MCU as Frank. It balances emotional grief with some incredibly brutal action. Once it ramps up, it feels like a Punisher comic from the early ‘90s. Review link in replies

Read Comics Online* is down? OMGGGG. CBR writers, comics twitter, podcasters and "I read every comic from this character" comics blogger must be crashing out! *Comics fandoms not-so-secret little secret. Hell, even a certain major Marvel editor uses it for his blog.

MORTAL KOMBAT II opened like a true-blue breakout sequel in North America, nabbing a $40 million domestic debut, nearly double its predecessor’s $23 million launch and nearly equal to that of the 2021 film’s $43 million lifetime domestic total. Overseas... maybe not so much. 1/2
