The point of seeking advice isn't to follow it blindly. It's to make sure you're thinking clearly. People give guidance from what works for them. It may or may not apply to you. The more their values and goals differ from yours, the more you should take it with a grain of salt.

Residents and fellows move through our program and don’t necessarily get to see their patients recover. When we have a really big “save,” I ❤️updating that their patients are thriving and back with their families. Better than publications. Or awards. Any day.

In 2016, I came to Ottawa as an MS4 and scrubbed with @CarolynNessim for a very memorable surg onc case. Now, just weeks from the end of my residency, we scrubbed together for a strikingly similar case. Shout out to the attendings who have believed in us since day one! 💯🙏🏽
