Jump Desktop

I shard my work over ~5 machines via Jump Desktop, this is just my beefiest machine.

@jumpdesktop is legit one of the best mac apps I’ve used for remote desktop !

Instead of buying a Mac mini to run as dev box/Hermes agent, it dawned on me that for just a few hundred dollars more I could finally replace the 2015 iMac that’s been serving as our family computer. With @Tailscale and @jumpdesktop, I can remote in anytime, even while the kids are actively using the iMac with their own accounts.

@mronge @drbarnard @Tailscale Also, you really don’t need Tailscale with Jump. It will find a way to connect to your machine no matter which network you’re on (hotel wifis, cellular). It’s smart too - if you’re on a LAN, it will automatically use the LAN to connect without exiting your local network.

@steipete @garrytan Jump Desk + IPad + Mac Minis or Studio on desk. I will never go back. Even do it to my corporate windows laptop. Traveling has never been easier. Just toss my iPad in my backpack and go.

@garrytan Install Jump Desktop and vnc into a Mac Studio in your office. Yes there's 1000 other "better" ways like tmux but this won for me because it's just sooooo convenient. And your clanker will run no matter what.

@Dai_JianYi That’s strange. Jump should be super stable. We do have Cloudless Fluid that you can use, but what’s the specific issue you’re hitting? Does it disconnect?

@jumpdesktop Can support directly use IP + Port Fluid？ This is more stable than P2P. Honestly, when using P2P(DIRECT NAT), the stability isn’t even as good as the VNC connection process in Screens 4 / Screens 5 APP. I like Jumpdesktop so I purchased. But Jumpdesktop VNC very terrible bad….

Thanks to @jumpdesktop I can lay in bed and use my iPad to remote into my Mini Pro out in the studio and keep agents on task. Especially nice when it’s 33 degrees outside and sleeting.

@bridgemindai No need to waste any energy on monitors for those things. Just use @jumpdesktop if you need the GUI.
