if we assume there's only a pepe/eth pair on base and need to fill eth anyways, the mainnet swap+bridge may be better price than bridge usdc+base swap. i assume they're using smth like across so you're only holding eth for a few seconds. sure, more variance but more EV for the user

@Ayo_Akala @Uniswap what happens if ETH significantly drops in between USDC not having a bridge route sounds implausible, you can bridge it anywhere having a volatile asset as the middle step with a delay sounds unnecessary/risky tbh, but maybe this is a bad example

what happens when you crosschain swap on @Uniswap? say you want to go from USDC on Ethereum to PEPE on Base. there's no direct path, so our backend generates a plan → swap USDC to ETH on Ethereum → bridge ETH to Base → swap ETH for PEPE on Base three chained actions, executed together
