Interesting. Thanks for sharing Mark. I think I’d agree with Phil in that this feels like something that’s been bubbling away under the surface (puns intended) for a while and has usually been managed. But in an age of deglobalisation, nationalism, and arguably harder borders, water doesn’t tend to follow those rules, so tensions will come. I’d be interested to know whether Justin Long @justindlong has any thoughts on this. He’s usually very good on this kind of analysis.

We don't talk nearly enough about how fast people have abandoned marriage as an institution. Among forty year old men. In 2008, 20% had never been married. In 2022, it was 37%. Among forty year old women. In 2008, 12% had never been married. In 2022, it was 26%.
