@blueprint_os @jrvallery_ The controller has safety rails, and the dispatcher guards against rogue values. The AI sets desired parameters via an MCP tool against a range of valid values which are pushed to the controller. #ai-writable-tunables" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">verdify.ai/reference/plan…

@jvallery @jrvallery_ How are you handling the handoff between AI proposals and firmware execution? Curious if there's a validation layer or if the ESP32 just accepts/rejects based on safety bounds.

@jrvallery_ and I built Verdify: a real Colorado greenhouse where an AI OpenClaw agent proposes bounded climate tactics, but ESP32 firmware controls the equipment. Goal: better plant climate with smarter use of water, electricity, and gas. AI proposes. Firmware controls. Telemetry verifies. verdify.ai

@jvallery @jrvallery_ Are the ESP32s enforcing hard limits locally if the agent suggests something weird?

5/ And Karpathy's little weekend repo? It's a toy version of what's happening inside these labs at massive scale. AI agents running experiments on AI training. Finding improvements. Applying them. Looping. 24/7. On hardware we couldn't have imagined 2 years ago. Sit with that for a second.

4/ These three things feed each other. Better AI -> more people use it -> richer training data -> better AI -> better AI research -> new algorithms -> even better AI. This isn't a slide deck. This loop is running right now. Karpathy went from 80% hand-coding to 80% AI-coding in ONE MONTH.

@PaigeProcessing Warren Buffett’s famous advice emphasizes this: "Know your circle of competence, and stick within it. The size of that circle is not very important; knowing its boundaries, however, is vital"

It's odd that expertise requires years of devoted study, but an opinion requires only a moment of exposure, and yet can feel fully formed. The more deeply you understand something, the more complexity and nuance it reveals, until the truly informed no longer feel entitled to a simple opinion at all. All it takes is one subject (even a brief, genuine attempt to understand just one thing fully) to realize you can't. That single realization, once it lands, changes everything. If you can't know everything about one thing, how could you possibly hold firm opinions about all the rest?

My ChatGPT year end stats. Crazy how much value I got out of AI this year. I also consumed quite a bit of Gemini and Grok.

I will be pushing for a moratorium on the construction of data centers that are powering the unregulated sprint to develop & deploy AI. The moratorium will give democracy a chance to catch up, and ensure that the benefits of technology work for all of us, not just the 1%.

@bridurand1 @Dr_Singularity For some perhaps, I personally will still value real experiences with real people in the real world. Perhaps property rights go away, but I think most people will still value a “home” and not want a nomadic lifestyle.

It is impossible to say what will have value in a post singularity or AGI world. Maybe land is meaningless if you can go anywhere in VR that looks and feels like real life. Why do you need land at that point? Who is to say that a super intelligent AI will let you keep your land? Maybe it decides the fairest thing to do is let everyone enjoy the land and nobody owns it? To many possibilities for anyone to predict accurately what life will be like.

Buying a house, taking a mortgage now, a day after AI surpassed humans in knowledge work. In an age when AGI/ASI/the Singularity is around the corner. Good decision? Bad decision? It doesn’t really matter?

I shared my personal perspective on how AI will shape our society + local communities in a talk at the Longmont Museum. Not a professional talk, just a community conversation. 🎥 Watch: youtube.com/watch?v=XRYYce…
