@TWeinlein Die Lok hat so kein ETCS, sondern ist nur "vorbereitet" (keine EU->keine ETCS Pflicht). Auf dem linken Panel sieht man eine Abdeckung wo der etcs-knopf Mal hinkommen soll

Kurz auf die #Eurodual von #Stadler gehüpft... Nun, da #Baseline3 Fahrzeug hätte ich einen #ETCS zum Quittieren erwartet - anscheinend wird hier alles im Display gemacht. Schön #Retro auch der Tacho 🤨

@GarethDennis Oh nice to see you in town ! There is a very nice Transport museum, and if you want to see a piece of pway which you don't have in the UK, there is a public overbridge right above the hump at the Kledering hump yard(it's right behind the Zentralfriedhof)

@GarethDennis The yellow train has been authorised into the occupied platform as a shunting movement and is allowed to draw forward to its usual stopping point as soon as the previous train leaves. It's considered standard practice, but usually not that close

@hsrgood Since the TSI standards came in 2014 Europe has decent Crash standards, and they are now accepted by the FRA

@EurostarJustinp I have read somewhere else that the sleepers embedded into the concrete slabs can be replaced separately from the slabs

Looks like 8 kilometres of track and 20,000 sleepers need replacing in the Gotthard base tunnel after the recent freight train derailment. I'm surprised it's not slab track.

Got to Frankfurt Airport in Time. On the wrong platform. Next train is delayed, short formed and just has a bistro instead of the advertised Restaurant. At least I managed to reservate the front seat

When your train is in Cologne central station, you can see pretty much everything there is to see in Cologne right from your window : Cathedral, Hohenzollern Bridge and the Carneval

It's always stunning how much more pleasant the ICE's interieur is compared to the Eurostar, although basically beeing the same train
