Players now have a formal say in how European football is run. At today’s #UEFACongress, FIFPRO Europe President David Terrier joined the @UEFA Executive Committee as the first-ever player representative with voting rights. Media release below 🧵⬇️

The European Commissioner for Sport @GlennMicallef has expressed serious concerns about FIFA’s recent exclusion of FIFPRO from meetings on player welfare. FIFPRO remains open to hold structured labour dialogue and negotiations with all stakeholders.

The European Parliament stands with players. In a historic vote, Members of the @EuroParl_EN have endorsed stronger protections for footballers’ health, fundamental union rights, and fair competition.
