I’ve been fighting #COVID19 for the last two weeks. I’m fine, mostly. I’m vaccinated. No cough, no fever, no loss of taste/smell, no trouble breathing. At this point I only have minor congestion. I just wish the virus would let up and let me test negative. :-(

@AccidentalCISO If she *wants* to learn french, you can start with Duolingo & French TV shows. Ideal is French school, but of course you'll have to give up your retirement 😉 Kids learn through fun or necessity. Either she enjoys learning, or you have to make it necessary for them.

I need suggestions for teaching children a second language! My 7yo daughter wants to learn French (we have some family in France). I’m not sure where to start. I took a few years of French 20+ years ago. I’m rusty, but it will come back.

@ShridharSachin I recall a teleconference company was working on that a few years back, with the ability to measure engagement levels and contribution through body language. This is too scary imho. The loser will be the one disengaged, not the bad manager who is the reason for it...

I would love a AI tool that can help in large meetings to identify who actually has ability, willingness and attitude to help & take ownership. Most cases those who dominate the call dont have skin in the game.

@ShridharSachin Time to POC: 6 months. Time to Lift & shift 1 app: 12 months. Time to Replatform: 18-24 months. Not unheard of. By then, your PMs have moved on and the new lead wants to change the plan. Also, the market has moved. So you go back to square 1.

Of all the waste and idle time s/w promises to solve in Enterprises, I think the time taken to select the s/w should be a significant contributor. If Enterprises continue to run year long test / RFI / bid processes, that gives everyone else a year of time to "out-software" them

@ShridharSachin Depending on the topic, convincing the crowd through back channels could the best way to create sufficient momentum for the larger change. Particularly when "the right thing" goes against conventional wisdom. Or should I have WhatsApp this comment instead of the forum? 😉

I expect it but every time people don’t speak their mind in forums that matter and speak in back channels with different opinions is still disappointing on a very deep level.
