I spent the last few months talking to people across the political spectrum, and to people who want nothing to do with politics at all. Here is what I learned. We are not a divided country. We are a country being divided, on purpose, by an American oligarchy that profits from the fight. They’ve captured our government, denied our healthcare, looted our treasury, and saddled us with crippling debt. I believe in a New New Deal. Healthcare as a human right. The right of every family to a decent home, and an end to endless wars. And a dividend paid to every American from the AI economy, because these machines were built on the whole of human inheritance. That inheritance belongs to all of us, and not just to the handful of men playing God with our very existence. And none of it happens if we just move on. Donald Trump, his family, and his administration are robbing us blind, not just of our money, but of our faith in one another, and they have to answer for it. Truth and reconciliation, not revenge. Then we break the system that let them do it. The question is not whether we will lose our democracy. The question is whether we will fight to take back what has already been stolen. I learned in recovery that you can’t heal what you won’t name. Neither can a country.

@smileyradioshow @willpfaffy "Fastest" is relative. An F1 car accelerates more quickly than an IndyCar, but because they only race on road/street courses, they don't reach the top speeds of IndyCars at speedways like IMS. NHRA argues they are the fastest, going over 300 mph.

@581MALUKAS The big issue is the origin of Freedom 250. In 2016 (2 months after Alex won The 500), Congress created the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission (bipartisan) to plan America250 events. By executive order, Trump created Freedom 250 which is public-private partnership w/own events.

Just days after Lorenzo Salgado Araujo's death in Houston, ICE killed a 26-year-old father, Joan Sebastian Guerrero, in front of his young daughter in Maine. It's horrific. It doesn't matter what his immigration status or who ICE was targeting — it shouldn't be a death sentence. I just got off the phone with DHS Secretary Mullin about this and stressed there needs to be an investigation with real accountability. It’s good ICE will pause stopping most vehicles, but it’s not enough. It doesn't change anything for the young girl in Biddeford who will grow up without a father. There needs to be a major change in how ICE operates that doesn’t put lives in danger and cause chaos in our communities.

Dear Under Secretary of War Elbridge Colby (@USWPColby), Thank you very much for your lengthy post setting out the principles and guidelines that you believe should govern America's former allies in NATO. For our part, we have taken note that President Trump no longer consistently guarantees that NATO's Article 5 will be honoured. We have taken note that President Trump has shown a marked inclination to do Vladimir Putin's bidding, even when doing so runs counter to our strategic interests and to our political and moral commitments to Ukraine. We have taken note that the U.S. administration has moved NATO allies further down the queue for deliveries of American weapons than previously agreed. We have taken note that President Trump has repeatedly spoken disparagingly of the sacrifices made by our soldiers when NATO allies answered the call after the United States invoked Article 5. We have taken note that President Trump appears to believe, mistakenly, that NATO is some kind of emergency hotline the United States can call whenever military operations far outside the Alliance's purpose and area of responsibility go wrong. We have also taken note that President Trump regularly speaks of acquiring sovereignty over Canada and Greenland. And, of course, we have taken note that President Trump has shown a clear willingness to unilaterally disregard the trade agreements concluded between the European Union and the United States. Taken together, all of this means that we must adapt to the reality that we can no longer rely on the United States. And that is exactly what we are doing. You are, of course, quite right that American defence manufacturers produce excellent weapons. But many of those systems are also becoming outdated in light of contemporary military doctrine - as the war in Ukraine has demonstrated with remarkable clarity. We naturally appreciate that you still find the time to lecture us on your views and on America's expectations. But in light of the chain of events set in motion by President Trump and his administration, we must admit that they carry rather limited weight.
