@slimstinator I didn't get round to it yet, distracted by other projects. Will see if I can get round to it at some point. Also, sorry for the delayed response, I'm not really checking Twitter anymore.

Boatify wrapped 2024! Stats, maps, timelapses and silly stuff from my AIS receiver and webcam overlooking the Firth of Forth. (recommend viewing on a grown up computer, works on phones but not optimised for them)

@jwheare Very nice James! We will need to try and get our Double Measure onto the top speed list for this year. We should be good for 30kts, but just AIS B+. We are in Port Edgar so not always in view for you.

@fifeweather @emilyhague You’re a gent Graham. Looking forward to emerging from the nautical haze and getting back into our weather collab!
English

@emilyhague @jwheare @MarineTraffic I had a sneaky feeling you might like it Emily. 👍😀 @jwheare has a great spot for his AIS setup down at Kinghorn and he’s incredibly talented at the data vis/web dev stuff! Hope you’re keeping well!

If you're into shipping activity in the Firth of Forth, @jwheare has put together this is a really impressive summary and visualisations of AIS data from 2024. An ideal page to explore on a cold and stormy evening! 👍😀 @emilyhague @MarineTraffic

@emilyhague Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the kind words, it was too much work really but I did learn some useful things 😅
I hope your webcam/AIS projects have been progressing well since we emailed last year. Sounded exciting!

@jwheare This is incredible!!! I can only imagine how much time it took, but I love the stories and data animations throughout. Showing the extended AIS coverage and boat stories and speed comparisons is just so cool. The boat data nerd in me is very happy 🤩🚤⛵️

@mehvechan @BungieStore @Hasbro @JosephBiwald Not what you were asking, and not sure if you knew, but the gun artwork was neither. Hopefully they’ve now made things right x.com/destiny2team/s…

We've investigated this with our partner NERF. We are currently in contact with the artist to make sure they are compensated and credited for their incredible artwork.

@fifeweather Looks like someone forgot to turn on the decimal place generator this morning.

Glad to hear that the ‘hurricane force winds’ reaching ‘5177mph’ - currently displayed on @bbcweather app for #Fife - is a ‘technical blip’! I'm sure @fifeweather can confirm conditions are actually a lot more sedate!
Different story in #Florida of course...

Chrome on iOS recently added phone number (and other stuff) detection, wrapping them with <chrome_annotation> tags. Even inside SVGs, which makes text invisible. I've had to workaround this on two separate websites. The fix is an undocumented <meta> tag. issues.chromium.org/issues/3536500…

@XDevelopers Can you fix this please
FifeWeather.co.uk@fifeweather
Unfortunately my weather conditions and weathercam tweets (posts) are currently not working. I've changed nothing, so clearly something has changed on X's end. Hopefully this is temporary! In the meantime, you can always find live data on FifeWeather.co.uk

Thanks @rawsalerts! While we've given ample 1 year notice and many reminders, we understand it's not easy to always keep up to date. This is why we're staying proactive and working diligently to help all emergency & public utility apps with API access for free.

🚨#UPDATE: We have received fantastic news from X as Many of them have reached out to me. @Xdevelopers is now contacting and directly supporting the National Weather Service, ensuring all emergency and weather apps maintain free API access for critical purposes only

@fifeweather The wind sensor is on the fritz too but luckily I already have the separate deployed. Will see how long those last. Might have to upgrade to pricier kit in the future…
English

@jwheare Aww sorry to hear that James - interesting though as it was always the sensor that failed first on the cheaper Origen Scientific stations I had prior to buying the Davis. I'm not sure why that is!? At least you've got a spare at the ready. You must have known! 🤣
English

A very soggy start this morning across much of #Fife, with some pretty heavy rain. It must be a bank holiday! 😂🤣
