Why should we trust state leaders who personally benefitted from funds meant to provide relief for families in poverty when they push a state or private business takeover of Jackson's water system?

The meeting continues, but that's all for now. I gotta go to bed.

In terms of addressing the water system, the mood of the room is supportive of the mayor and disgusted with the state's neglect of the duty. There are not as many questions as there is testimony. People want to be heard.

We're at the City of Jackson Community Meeting where the mayor is addressing the water crisis and hearing from Jackson residents. Mayor Lumumba began by recognizing public officials in attendance and expressing gratitude for state and local partners.
