I was disappointed to see that my State Rep. @JaredLPatterson walked out on the House Republican Caucus meeting and didn’t abide by the rules that Republicans adopted for selecting a Speaker. @mayes_middleton @lukemaciastx Sounds like they revoke just as many licenses as TCEQ denies permits. TCEQ needs to have major reforms as well.

Yesterday the Sunset Advisory Commission met to review 3 agencies including the Lottery. It was clear in the hearing that the Texas Lottery has abused its authority and has sought ways to expand gambling through unregulated and unlicensed online apps. Even more disturbing is that it became apparent that minors are likely using the apps to play the lottery —and Zero lottery ticket sales licenses were revoked in 2023 as a punishment. I look forward to major reforms being proposed.

@TracesofTexas A railroad bridge converted to a 1 lane crossing bridge. I made many of trips across that bridge in vehicles and on tractors. It still exists as they built new bridge just up the road a couple of years ago.

This wonderful photo was sent in by Traces of Texas reader Pat Conley and shows her mother and aunt on the old Carpenter's Bluff trestle bridge that crossed over into Oklahoma. They were both Texas born and bred. I think this was in the early 1950s. Thank you, Pat!
