Very eye-opening to read about the battle of Kursk in 1943. . A million casualties on both sides,estimated 6-8,000 tanks lost. The Russians are second to no one when it comes to sacrifice and victory. anyone who fantasizes about victory over Russia is probably irretrievably stupid

I fear we have a terribly inadequate and self-referential theory of mind when it comes to the Russians, just as we did with Middle Eastern suicide bombers. Anglo-American "rationality" is a rather new and narrow form of consciousness in a world with broader ideas about the soul.
