Today, we are sharing the story of another resilient warrior who was negatively impacted by the COVID-19 vaccine mandate, Kennie Kelly. Chief Warrant Officer 5 Kelly, a Master Aviator, was involuntarily separated in September 2022 after refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccine. Following the release of EO 14184, he worked directly with the dedicated @USArmy COVID-19 Reinstatement & Reconciliation Task Force to return to service. With support from the Task Force - and under the leadership of @SecWar & @SecArmy - CW5 Kelly was reinstated in February 2026 with full relief, including backpay, duty station preference, entitlements, benefits, and constructive service credit. He now serves alongside his three sons, each carving their own path in the @USArmy, @USNavy & @USAirForce. Daily Ukraine map thread 🧵 for Thursday 16th April 2026 Ukrainian long range strikes devastated many targets in the occupied territories and Crimea over night, as well as destroying storage tanks at Tuapse. It looks like another raid is occurring tonight too. Further to our warning yesterday, we've pull up a focus on the west of Siversk direction which really needs to be looked at - the 81st, 54th and 10th Mountain are very much struggling to hold the line here, and are being bypassed and infiltrated across the board. ⚔️ Fighting on the banks of the Oskil The situation in the Kupiansk direction remains difficult but shows gradual improvement. Russian units are slowly expanding their zone on the eastern bank of the Oskil, squeezing the Ukrainian bridgehead. Small groups operate near Kucherovka, Podol, Kurilivka, and Novoosynove, where Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian fighters are regularly recorded. The enemy still holds some positions on the eastern bank, often in tactically disadvantageous spots, but with media significance. Fighting is conducted by small infiltration groups moving through settlement ruins. The problem of Ukrainian drone superiority has been partially addressed, though the situation is far from ideal. In Kupiansk itself, fighting continues in the northern part, turning the area into a "gray zone" of ruins. Both sides’ aviation is active over the city, with more aerial bombs dropped than assault aircraft used. Reports of Ukrainian attempts to push Russian forces back from the western bank of the Oskil remain unconfirmed. The AFU carried out several tactical attacks, but no large-scale effort to force a crossing has been observed. The enemy has even withdrawn some reserves from the Kupiansk direction and transferred them north to the Burluk direction, where they are facing problems. Large-scale breakthroughs are unlikely in the near term due to the high drone threat and the limited scope of current gains. No new cases of exposed infiltration groups for "flag-planting" have been recorded, suggesting certain conclusions have been drawn. The fighting remains slow and attritional.

⚔️ Fighting near Rodinskoe In the Dobropoillia direction, Russian forces continue small-group attacks across several sectors. On the northern flank, attempts are underway toward Kucherov Yar, though success remains unclear. Earlier Russian fighters briefly entered the settlement but could not hold it. Heavy fighting persists for Novy Donbas and Belytske. The enemy is defending these villages fiercely with small groups and heavy drone support. In the Gryshino area, Russian units are repelling counterattacks by the 425th Mountain Assault Brigade “Skala” and engaging in forest strips between Gryshino and Rodinskoe. In the Molodetskoye sector, the enemy is also trying to counterattack, while Russian forces push from Udachnoye toward Novoaleksandrovka. No large breakthroughs yet — enemy drone activity remains extremely high across the entire front. The pace is slow and grinding on both sides.

Since February 27, at least 404 flights of heavy C-17 and C-5 transport aircraft have been recorded heading to the Middle East. The intensity speaks for itself: at first there were few flights, then their number sharply increased as stocks were depleted during the first month of strikes. Now, with a ground phase approaching, the flow has become even denser. This does not include chartered commercial cargo flights, which are also actively supplying both US forces and Ukraine. The US clearly has no intention of stopping and continues pumping resources into the region.
