@Djoko_UTD @CocoGauff Having lotsa money doesn't mean you don't have feelings. 😭
English

@samchillman @UKMensTennis @espn @ESPNAssignDesk Almost everyone is right this should not have counted
English

@UKMensTennis @espn @ESPNAssignDesk Weird satisfaction in seeing so many people so confidently wrong in these comments.
English

@bravoschmps21 @charlesarthur @DrewFranklinKSR @KySportsRadio Let me guess you hate ABS and would rather have shit umps than the real rules enforced
English

I have no idea if this is legal but it’s awesome
Kentucky Men's Tennis@UKMensTennis
Superman? Nah. Eli Stephenson. #SCTop10
English

@kaiclmt @KySportsRadio He hit the ball so sideways that the opponent had zero chance. It was a good call
English

@DrewFranklinKSR @KySportsRadio “You must not touch the net, net posts, or the opponent’s court with your body, clothing, or racket while the ball is live”
English

@kaiclmt @KySportsRadio You're correct in that I never read the rules but the point counted so take it up with them.
English

@dustarm20 @SadKentucky @UKMensTennis @espn @ESPNAssignDesk It counted because of referee incompetence.
English

@SadKentucky @UKMensTennis @espn @ESPNAssignDesk It counted. The ball had bounced on Eli's side, it had not bounced twice, and he didn't touch the net. I was there. Craziest winner I've seen. Georgia player lost his mind but to no avail.
English

@SadKentucky @UKMensTennis @espn @ESPNAssignDesk I don’t think it would need to bounce twice? In practice it was just a shot like any other shot (albeit a really cool shot). The opponent could have theoretically still hit it back. Since he didn’t touch the net, the ball is still “live.”
Happy to be corrected!
English

Yes, Eli Stephenson got the point.
It's legal under ITF rules: if the ball bounces on your side then spins back over the net, you can reach/jump over and hit it—provided you don't touch the net, posts, or opponent's court with your body, racket, or feet before striking the ball. He cleared it cleanly here. Great play!
English

@UKHemingway @KySportsRadio Horrible judgment by the ref, should be fined for incompetence
English

@KySportsRadio You cangot a ball on the other side of the net once it bounces on your side and starts to spin back over as long as you don't touch the net...judgement call by the umpire if the other player had any chance at getting the ball back was clearly not called. Point UK!!
English

@KySportsRadio 100% legal as long as u don’t touch the net
English

@Steelerfreak212 @DrewFranklinKSR @KySportsRadio Jumping guy loses since he touched the other court before winning the point
English

@DrewFranklinKSR @KySportsRadio I’m still lost? Guy in video and opponent volley, video cuts to show guy jump over net and hit a ball on the other side, slamming it on that side of the net as it goes out of bounds? Help me out
English

@thomasmattUK @Steelerfreak212 @DrewFranklinKSR @KySportsRadio Wrong. You can’t touch the ground on your opponents side before the point is over, look up the ITA , itf, or atp rulebook
English

@Steelerfreak212 @DrewFranklinKSR @KySportsRadio What we didn’t see is the ball hit on jumping guys side with heavy backspin. Therefore jumping guy is allowed to jump the net and score. Point jumping guy.
English

@DrewFranklinKSR @KySportsRadio Worked for tennis channel and you never read the rules? No wonder they’re so clueless all the time
English

@KySportsRadio It hit on his side first and spun back so it counted. (I used to work for Tennis Channel.)
English

@ClipperCitizen @SpaceArtisan2 @CTennisNation @UKMensTennis @SSN_Kentucky Yeah well the rule is you can’t touch your opponents side before the point is over so he loses
English

ELI STEPHENSON JUMPS OVER THE NET FOR AN UNREAL WINNER 😳
Eli Stephenson just pulled off one of the wildest points you’ll see all year 😱 And yes… it counted.
