@DrBKhalwale 1. Why were KPRL and KPC merged in 2023?
2. Given KPRL's Changamwe storage capacity of 380 million litres, was expansion to 2 or 3 billion litres feasible?
3. Was Kenya govt's sale of a 65% stake in KPC a prudent decision?

@RaphaelObonyo Let Madina Okot breathe. She's still learning the ropes. The spotlight, awards and pressure or being forced into hiring a manager could hurt her growth. give her 2 years, let her finish her studies at the university.
English

I have nominated Madina Okot for the Business Daily Top 40 under 40 Women 2026. Madina has made history after being drafted into the Women's National Basketball Association, becoming only the third Kenyan to play in the top American women’s basketball league. Okot was selected 13th overall by Atlanta Dream.

Yesterday I raised concerns about the Healthcare Bill, especially duplication of roles and creation of a new Authority.
Someone was sent to attack me and called me a liar.
Today, Shaqil Shabir has raised the same exact concerns on the floor of Parliament.
Watch the video below.
My concerns were the new Authority will do things like licensing and regulation,
but these roles already exist under KMPDC, SHA and others.
And nowhere in the bill does it clearly say those bodies will be scrapped.
And so we are creating new positions that the xecutive can fill. In short we are creating offices for a few.
If the bill must pass, then let’s be honest:
Either strengthen what we already have & do away with the new authority
or merge everything into one clear system.
Not both.
The country is struggling.
We can’t keep creating new offices to consume taxes while doing the same work.
And for those who thought I was just talking,
I read these things before I post.
Let’s have a real conversation.

Kenya is set to lose over KSh 46 BILLION from Lokichar oil.
Gulf Energy was exempted from almost all taxes, VAT, RDL, you name it, for 10 years.
MP Oundo revealed this in Parliament (last week), citing a Treasury report.
There was even an attempt to silence him.
Worse? Treasury isn’t even sure how much oil is there, or if that 46B will ever be recovered.
And we’ll still destroy our roads transporting it by trucks, then pay for repairs ourselves.
This sounds like govt is gambling.

Fuel has crossed 200 Ksh again, first time since 2023.
With diesel, up by 40 bob.
And I’m just wondering, Parliament passed a supplementary budget recently, why didn’t they put a subsidy to cushion Kenyans?
Even VAT, instead of removing it like other countries, they’re just doing a small 3% reduction like that helps anything.
Since 2023 you’ve been collecting PDL every month, where is that money going?
Because clearly there’s money. There’s always money for Kithure Kindiki to fly helicopters daily, and billions being spent in government.
So it’s not that the government can’t act.
It’s that they don’t want to.
Meanwhile diesel runs everything, transport, food, farming.
Prices are about to go up again.
And it’s ordinary Kenyans who will feel it the most.

@LabanMbunya @omondi_asher Nyoro proposed and defended the idea of imposing VAT on fuel in parliament.
English

@omondi_asher He was under budget and appropriations committee bro.
English

This man, Hon. Ndindi Nyoro, has so many brains, but the government ignores his advice.
Before EPRA review of fuel prices, Ndindi Nyoro had said that
Fuel prices must have the three components.
1. Subsidies. The government directly pays part of the cost of fuel so that the price at the pump is lower than the actual market or import cost. Governments add levies (10–20 shillings per litre) to fund roads, infrastructure, emergency funds... Reducing the levy (e.g., cutting it by 5–10 shillings per litre) directly subtracts that amount from the pump price.
Subsidies equals direct financial support to bridge the gap.
2. Reduction of VAT. Ukireduce ama utoe VAT on fuel it lowers the final price consumers pay without the government paying extra cash upfront. Hesabu rahisi.
Tuseme pre-VAT price ya fuel ni soo moja na VAT ni 16%, the pump price becomes ksh 116
3. Reduction of Fuel levy.
Gava ikiongeza ushuru tuseme 10–20 bob per litre to fund infrastructure. Ikireduce the levy like cutting it by 5–10 bob per litre, directly subtracts that amount from the pump price.
Simple.
I have followed Ndindi Nyoro on several issues, mostly huwa ako kwa engagements and educating sana. CS Wandayi and President Ruto should listen.
Hon Ndindi Nyoro is always on the mic spilling wisdom to empty TUTAM worshippers.

@hillaryk_mutahi @sholard_mancity Changamwe KPRL was merged with KPC in 2023 then sold to private companies in 2026
English

@sholard_mancity Ask yourself about Changamwe, where did it go?
English

Yesterday in Parliament at the commitee energy, a proposal was made that could quietly transform Kenya’s economy completely.
Right now, Kenya imports fuel from places like the Netherlands, which act as global storage hubs.
The idea?
Build massive strategic oil reserves at the Kenyan coast similar to them.
Then:
- Other African countries can store fuel in Kenya (and pay us annually)
- During shortages, they buy from Kenya
- We position ourselves as a regional energy hub
The idea is brilliant.
The only problem?
Do we have leaders who can execute it?
Or will they loot it like everything else and create a few billionares?

English

@sholard_mancity Taxpayers should no longer support KPC commercial activities, given the govt 65% divestiture. The alternative is to form a new, fully state owned fuel storage entity.
English

@sholard_mancity KPC depots can store a 2 month fuel supply for Kenya (1.3 billion litres). Yet 65% of KPC is now in private hands. What was the rationale for selling it, and why should Ksh 106 B from that sale (NIF) be used to promote private business? e.g expanding changamwe storage capacity?
English

A woman went into a small shop, calm and confident, picked items worth Ksh 10,000. When it was time to pay, she took out her phone and said she had sent the money through M-Pesa. She even showed the shopkeeper her phone and then stepped outside.
The shopkeeper checked his phone but saw no payment. Instead, there was only a "please call me" message. He quickly went outside and confronted her. Other people nearby noticed and came to see what was happening.
As more people gathered, the woman became nervous and started giving different explanations. Someone called the police, and when they arrived, they arrested her, ending her failed attempt to scam the shopkeeper.

Evans Odhiambo scored a straight A of 84 points at Kisii School, earning a place at Kenyatta University to pursue Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery.
Unfortunately, he was forced to drop out of school due to the Ruto’s New University Funding Model, which increased University fees by more than 2000%.
His family cannot afford the kshs 631,000 yearly fees for his education. Under HELB, the fees would have been significantly lower.
Evans works in construction sites earning ksh.400 daily, as his dream of becoming a doctor ebbs away daily.
This is the story of many young Kenyans from low income and vulnerable families who have seen their dreams of a decent education evaporate, with it, any chance of ever changing their lives and that of their families.
Leaders from Odhiambo’s background Kama Wakina Kaluma, Junet, Wanga, Mbadi, etc are not bothered about his plight and that of many others like him.
Their immediate concern is punishing Kikuyus and they have vowed to vote for Ruto even if that will cost Wakina Odhiambo, Onyango, Otieno and others their education.

Not everything is negative this week.
I came across a video of a Kenyan commander in Congo handling a very tense situation and honestly, respect.
Locals had blocked UN forces, accusing MONUSCO of working with ADF and M23 rebels (the same group linked to killing a Kenyan truck driver recently).
But this commander stepped in, listened, and calmed things down.
Locals even say he’s been doing a good job.
We rarely highlight our own when they do right. 🇰🇪👇

@BranslavSaitot1 @husskhalid @VOCALAfrica_ @WMutunga @citizentvkenya @KTNNewsKE @NationFmKE @Eastleighvoice @thekenyatimes @StandardKenya @TheStarKenya @Tuko_co_ke Incumbent president campaigned for 5 years, goons and police were never sent to his rallies.
Why should his opponents be stopped now?
English

@husskhalid @VOCALAfrica_ @WMutunga @citizentvkenya @KTNNewsKE @NationFmKE @Eastleighvoice @thekenyatimes @StandardKenya @TheStarKenya @Tuko_co_ke But at these tensions, we should be banned, even if our constitution doesn't allow early campaigns,
English

We cannot suspend constitutional and political rights because politicians, police and goons are engaging in violence.
Those calling for suspension of political rallies and activities want to give power to goons and criminals.
We will not suspend the constitution. What is required is the immediate arrest of goons and their financiers including politicians.
