Quick recap on the recent incident: On April 25, a zero-day vulnerability in Litecoin’s MWEB (MimbleWimble Extension Blocks) privacy layer allowed an attacker to create invalid “mutated” blocks with malformed peg-out transactions. This caused some mining nodes to stall, leading to a temporary 13-block invalid chain fork (about 30 minutes of history). The network resolved it via a reorganization, and the invalid transactions were wiped out. Litecoin Core quickly released v0.21.5.4 with fixes. litecoin.com Important note on self-custody: PTERI Wallet gives you full self-custody — you control your private keys and funds directly on the Litecoin blockchain. The network-level reorg means any on-chain effects from the temporary fork were reversed network-wide. Most self-custody users were unaffected, but if your wallet shows any issues, missing balances, or unusual activity related to MWEB transactions, please reach out.
