@BusinessInsider Did anyone there even listen to the talk? I didn't "throw cold water" on the idea that Stockholm could be the SV of Europe. That was the theme of the last part!

Stockholm could eventually become "the Silicon Valley of Europe" but founders still need Silicon Valley culture first, Paul Graham said. bit.ly/4duEkHa

@kalligeros @paulg On a very high level that's directionally true, but it's much more nuanced under the surface. I've been there, solely putting my mind to creating things people wanted or needed. That alone proved insufficient and unsustainable.

At one point my son and his friend kept looking for shortcuts to getting rich. Over and over I told them the way to do it is just to make something people want. If this is what I tell my own kids about getting rich, why won't politicians believe this is how a lot of people do it?

@paulg Yeah, you can't run a business without the drive to make money, but there's easier and more surefire ways to make money than founding a start-up. That's one of the things I love at YC, all of the founders seem genuinely motivated to solve problems.

Tesla has reportedly submitted plans for a carwash dedicated for Robotaxis in Las Vegas. The permit, filed with Clark County on May 12th, describes "Tesla Center Cybercab Phase 2 Car Wash." According to the project description, the work involves interior and exterior improvements to an existing facility, including the construction of a car wash enclosure, relocation of tire service equipment, and the installation of power raceways. This seems to suggest that Tesla is building a full-service maintenance hub specifically designed to handle the unique needs of an autonomous fleet. via @NotATeslaApp/@MarcoRPi1: notateslaapp.com/news/4143/tesl…

Just reading through @TheRideshareGuy's new article for The Driverless Digest and this infographic stood out to me. Are we starting to see the lag in infrastructure finally catch up to the industry? The solution at the moment seems to be expand to new cities and ignore the topic, but how long before this lag catches up again?

As first-time entrepreneurs, we've all had those breaking moments where it feels like you're overwhelmed and underwater, and you're not sure how everything is going to come through. As a second-time founder, you still have those problems, but you understand the mindset and how to deal with them.

@julianweisser @eoghan Mixed opinions on this, seed funds are often well-tuned to pick up on well-presented great ideas, but some really successful companies do slip through the cracks. Maybe it's a matter of presentation too?

lightspeed just hired its first creator-investor. her name is Claire Zau and she breaks the venture mold in exactly the way the industry needs right now. for years, venture firms have treated investing, platform, and content like separate lanes. investors write checks. platform supports companies. content makes the firm look alive online. but founders do not experience firms that way anymore. they diligence you before the first meeting. they know who has taste. who has reach. who understands the market. who can help them become known. and who is just hosting the same dinner in a different room. claire has already built trust with the next generation of ai founders. 230k+ on instagram. 100k+ on tiktok. a real point of view on early-stage ai and a voice of her generation now she’s joining @lightspeedvp to invest in pre-seed and early-stage ai companies, cover the most interesting deals across the ecosystem on social, and co-host something new coming soon…. not platform. not “content person.” not influencer-in-residence. investor + creator. venture used to split those into two career paths. claire is what happens when they become one. welcome to lightspeed, claire.

I'm beyond excited to announce that I’m joining @Lightspeed as a Partner on the early-stage investing team and helping to build everything they're doing in new media. I've spent the last six years investing in early-stage companies, and the last year building a media platform in parallel. What started as a side quest has reached 350,000+ followers and millions of viewers a month. For me, investing and storytelling have always been two halves of the same job. This work has put me in rooms with incredible founders, researchers, and operators - many of whom have become close friends, collaborators, and early stage bets. There's so much happening at the frontier right now, and the media platform has given me a way to be in those conversations early (and to bring the people I admire most into a wider audience). When Lightspeed reached out, we saw the same opportunity. Venture and media are converging, and the next generation of great firms will need to show up differently: reaching founders and builders before they've even started a company, and being the place where people first get excited about what's happening in tech. With more than $50 billion in AUM, Lightspeed has been building alongside founders at the frontier of technology for decades. It's a firm I've admired for years since I started investing - for its intellectual rigor, its long-term conviction, and the way it approaches company building. I’m excited to join a team that brings real depth and substance to its work, and I hope to bring that same ethos to everything I put out. Thank you to @ravi_lsvp, @bsomaia , and @Machiz for believing in this vision and trusting me to help build it. I’m so excited to see what we do together. If you're an early-stage founder, building or thinking about starting something, or just curious about this ecosystem - please reach out. My DMs are open and I’d love to chat!

@anil_builds @aseonlabs @FastCompany So true....44%+ of miles are empty (no customer) right now with cars going back and forth to a depot (10-15 miles outside a city) multiple times per day. No scale yet. Without proper infra scaling will be impossible
