These stories are dangerous as they push a false narrative and instill hatred and violence against myself and my family. No, I do not support child pornography or any form of child exploitation. I voted against HF1606 the bill aimed at banning access to "nudification" AI tools that create non-consensual deepfake nudes, because it is an ineffective, messaging bill that does little to actually stop determined bad actors. People intent on creating or accessing this material will simply use a VPN to hide their location and bypass Minnesota's jurisdiction entirely. The bill creates a false sense of security, allowing politicians to claim "Minnesota solved the problem" when it changes almost nothing for those who actually produce or distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM). I want to renounce my American citizenship. I pay the same amount of taxes on everything even though my money comes from 100% abroad and I spent 99% of every year (the last 3) outside of the United States. It's a clear exploitation of abroad US citizens designed to imprison them for life. If you renounce, you pay an exit tax (which is so high that you are heavily discouraged from renouncing). The only reason I don't is because I feel bad for my parents. But I served my country, risked getting blown up in a war I didn't care about. I played by all of the rules, paid taxes on time and yet I still get fucked simply because there are better options abroad. I could understand if I worked for a company in the US, I could understand if I was living there. But this is wrong. It's something I have been weighing for years.
